I've had a few of the cheap ones before and they've not lasted very long. The official ones are half price at the Sky Accessories Store at the moment with code blackfriday50.

Third party Sky remotes are (usually) terrible pieces of junk.
Weak & flimsy rattley, poor connections so you end up pressing buttons several times aand/or harder.
Made the mistake twice of buying cheap, wouldn't again.

cos its not an official remote but a "replacement" , the experiences I have had with no official remotes make it not worth the saving . Official ones are much better quality and are £10 on ebay new. These replacements all have last less than a year for me.

Never paid for a replacement, just call them and another one should be sent out for free. Got a big button remote for the old man the other day from sky..we pay enough for the service! Things like this should be free to all of there customers.

Thanks for the advise. Was going to pay the £10 from the sky website but after a 5 minute phone call a free replacement is on its way!

I recommend buying a One For All replacement remote from Argos for £10.
I have the first one, and it's well made, and way better than the Sky remote, as the problem with the Sky remote is the carbon contacts which get worn out from repeated presses, but many other remote brands, including the £10 OneForAll, doesn't use those contacts, so it'll probably last several times longer than an official sky remote.

I haven't got Sky but I'd of thought this is a very good deal for a remote. Can't understand why it's gone cold?

It's gone cold because every deal, no matter how good, always begins life off cold.
i would love to meet the people who inhabit the new deal board and vote cold without checking out the deal or investigating prices. they must be a right barrel of laughs

You might not need to buy a remote: your current remote may just need cleaning. Open up the remote ( with a screwdriver and prying tool) and soak and wash the rubber button pads. Works a treat.

I need a replacement cos my husband cut the subtitle button out on our last one so I wouldn't put them on ....:-)
Bought a £4.99 one from Ebay a few years ago after the original didn't like the actions of a 4 year old child. Cheapo one has put up more of a fight.

Oh, wait, is this not an official/genuine/original remote?! A bit misleading, isn't it? :disappointed:

Cold.Hate to say it but these things are all over ebay for the same price or less and they're nowhere near as good as the real thing.

Totally agree with that! Loads on eBay for not much more than a couple of quid but they are garbage... even if they say they are 'original' or 'genuine,' watch out
Stick to a real seller or proper outlet. I recently paid a tenner for a rev.10 so this is a steal.

As others have said, the non official ones are terrible and you do end up pressing buttons more than once to get them to work. I bought one off Ebay the other week and never again!!!

Definitely looks like it.
Shall give to the parents as they have been using one where the TV Guide button barely works and it's annoying to use when I go home!
Where did you get it for £7.50 (and what discount)? £20 on Sky Accessories site.
