A modern take on a 8 bit NES side-scrolling platformer. Brilliant MONO soundtrack, very solid game mechanics/controls, rpg elements, beautiful visuals with lots of bright colours & a charming fairytale style. Level selection much like a Mario game (map) & collectibles to trade in for unlocks.

As far as I am aware it definitely does not come with the PS3 or Vita versions, it does include a free dlc upgrade to Shovel Knight Plague of Shadows (playable after you complete the game as Shovel Knight) or there is a secret code you can enter at the title screen (providing you have updated to Version 2.0 of the game) :-

I think it was £15.99 so no big loss. Played and adored it on 3DS last year so no way I wasn't gonna jump on a physical release with new content! Actually would've preferred it on Vita but sadly no physical release, which I wanted more as a collectible/memento. I normally don't preorder games but this one just seemed right. Haven't played yet due to, as ever, the backlog including a couple of huge RPG time-sinks recently (Dark Souls 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition).

I completely agree. As you can imagine, I was disappointed that my friend sold his PS4 but I'm in need of a different type of game as I've been hammering Battlefront and Uncharted Collection. Shovel Knight is just to tonic I need. I also think the physical copy comes with all released updates and it actually includes a proper manual lol :laughing:

I was playing this at a friend house and I was thoroughly enjoying it but he decided to sell his PS4 so I've ordered it to play on mine. At this price it was just too hard to pass up :sunglasses:
