just would like to add that my watch came today from creation (I missed the delivery on Friday), and there were no import charges or anything. :-)

Sorry.
I'm slow today.
I mistook your sense of humour for stupidity.
Please forgive me.

Very true. Rolex did tell me it was an atomic watch so I think it's got an atomic clock inside it not a radio. I can't tune it like a radio either.

My Rolex looks better and is probably more accurate as it connects to the internet or satellites or something to download the time.

Yes my ferrari looks better than next doors fiesta and probably faster too.

Better hope it downloads some RAM too, or you won't have anywhere to store all that time.

seiko are one mist reliable watches around. Probably your rolex is more accurate and so it should go the price. it all about functionality and value for money. so on thst basis the seiko wins hands down.

Your Rolex is kept correct via a radio signal from the atomic clock in Grenwich.
I also have radio controlled watches that cost a fraction of a Rolex and in some cases, look better.
However, what real use is that level of accuracy?
The buses don't arrive dead on time, TV progs don't start dead on time.
Hospital appointments are never on time.
So, apart from bragging that you have spent a ridiculous amount on a watch and don't even know how it works, what was your point?

Singapore ... so don't forget to allow for import tax, VAT & customs clearance fee.
Based in Singapore. I bought a watch from them on a Friday and was delivered by Tuesday. Superb tracking service and excellent customer service.
Didn't pay import duties either. You're guarantee is with them tho, effectively grey import, but for the price I was happy with that. 100% genuine products and a very well know and respected company in the watch selling world. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again for the massive savings v uk costs.

Yes, under £150. Current 4R36 model.
You misunderstand movement accuracy.

My daughter's iphone 4s that I paid £50 for second hand (excuse the pun) connects to the internet or satellites or something (a magic apple on the sky maybe?) To download the time.
It also means that I don't need to whip out my genitalia in an internet forum about a Seiko watch.

Not bad but it's a lower-end Seiko with a pretty basic folded-link bracelet and hollow end-links. And ordinary quartz movement, no solar/kinetic fanciness. As such £80-100 is about all it should go for, not really a bargain.
It's possible to get a Monster for under £150 and for that you're talking a good automatic movement and much nicer bracelet.

Under £150 for a new monster e.g srp307k or 313k? They are usually around £200 and even then the movement isn't the greatest.
Unless you mean the older versions that don't hack and can't even be hand wound to start them off. The 7s36 based ones?
My much older 6105 was hacking and more accurate. The 7s26 was a step backwards. I just wish I'd kept it now instead of selling it on cheaply because it had some aftermarket parts.

Last time I ordered from H Samuel they cancelled the order a few days later due to lack of stock... Don't rely on the website being up to date.

it seems the image shown only shows the second hand, the image on h samuels website is better, showing the hour and minute arms much more clearly

10:10 to me. Well, the minute hand is inbetween 10 and 11 minute and I think the second hand is a tad off otherwise thats a big shift from half way to 11 minutes past.

However you may well mean that due to under declaring their items at the point of import they evade the vat and duty on their items when they get imported into the UK.

Odd this is from their own website:
For exports, CreationWatches.Com does not charge any additional tax on the prices listed on our website. You only pay what you see. For some countries, you may be charged import tax by the customs of your country which is the same as the GST or VAT in your country. However, in such rare cases even with the tax you will end up saving substantially by shopping with us.
And:
We are not authorized dealers for the brands we carry, because we want to offer you lower prices. We source our watches from distributors around the world. All our watches are 100% genuine, authentic and brand new. We have a long history of satisfying customers with 100% brand new, complete, authentic watches, attentive customer service, and fast shipping. We believe that the benefits we offer make us the best choice to satisfy your watch needs. We hope you agree, and we look forward to serving you.
So care to explain how i am wrong?

Incorrect on all fronts.
I'd like to correct you where you went wrong, but suffice to say I'd rather not for many reasons - the biggest of which is the VAT and duty. If you do a little research you will find that this isn't an issue.
They're highly recommended.

They seem to be based in new york so, in theory, all watches would be subject to vat and duty when imported add to that, according to their own website, they are not authorised dealers for any of the brands they supply
