I personally think everyone is stupid for buying into this elf on shelf nonsense. Same as the people who buy whatever stuffed animal toy the festive advertisers tell us to care about.

It's magical for children which is why people are buying into it. I don't do it personally with my daughter but I think it's an amazing memory for a child to have of their past.
