Thats ok I rang richer sounds after john lewis were arsy about it being in stock when I had a reservation they still claim its not in stock so richer sounds have sold me one for £230 delivered with the 6year warranty so im happy with that.

I rang my local jl at bluewater and they said I could order it and they would do the price match. They then got the price match dept to ring and said its not in stock so they wont price match. Also none instock at local argos how are you all getting jl to price match?

Picked one up from argos Milton Keynes today. Not opening just yet as I have one on order at John Lewis Milton Keynes who have said they will only price match at the time the TV comes in so fingers crossed argos keep the price down!

Generally for Sammys:

Contrast 100
Brightness 45-50
Sharpness 0
Colour: 45 - 50
Backlight as low as you can bear.

In the picture options (or something) completely turn off dynamic contrast and other unnecessary effects like 'noise filter'. Basically turn all the picture-bastardising features off. That's your starting point - what you see is what is being broadcast/input (pretty much). Then if you want to turn-on the picture-'enhancing' features one by one to see if you like them - go at it!

Really good TV... it even picks up my NAS drive which is a bonus and means I don't have to route stuff via my ps3 (apols if I'm behind the times - I don't buy TVs very often lol). I bought it from ebay when then had their 20% off everything event... money well spent! A recent update means you can use ITV player (it wasn't available when it was first launched apparently).

I got the basic 40 inch one last week for our bedroom and blows away the LG 50 inch one down the stairs for a fraction of the price.I humphed and hayed because off people posting about sound and umpteen other things i had never even heard off but since its came, i realise that most of the things pointed out are way over the top unless your reading what tv and hifi.

So just collected mine from JL as they agreed the Price Match. Its for my eldests room and is a great TV. Last week I got the Sony KD-65x8509C and the menu and system on the Samsung is better.

It has both an analog and digital TV tuner so the old Sky HD magic eye works and then Smart Hub is great. Logged her into Netflix and Amazon Prime and away you go.

Havent changed any picture settings but its a great piece of kit.

I bought mine for £169 from Tesco Outlet a few months ago. It was classed as refurbished, but looked new to me. Worth checking there as they sometimes have genuine bargains.

Anyways, £228 is a bargain for this fantastic TV.
