The J5100 series is new for 2015.
It's slim but not slim like the F5500 LED TV's. Thne again, there's only a difference of few mm's.
The TV is also not SMART. It is FullHD. Product will most likely be built in Samsung's factory in Egypt

On ebay. I had a counter offer for £280 inc delivery. Just worried about the picture quality. I have a fire tv so smart function not a big deal but would it be better to pay 100 or so extra to get 3d or 4k tv? I love and prefer LG tvs. Never had Samsung before hence the confusion.

Just a heads up I called richer sounds to see if they would price match and they said no because they offer a 6 year warranty and only match like for like warranty.
However they did say they would match John Lewis price of £189...worth an extra £10 for 6 years warranty.
Hope this helps...I'm personally gonna go instore and see if I can charm the manager to match the Argos price lol

Dear Mr *********
Thank you for your price match request for the Samsung UE32J5100 LED Full HD 1080p TV, 32" with Freeview HD
I have looked into your request and will be happy to match the price of £177.65 seen at argos.co.uk

Use two 32 inch tv's as monitors. One of them is very old and i want to replace it. All i need is full HD and little lag.
Current good screen Samsung LE32C530F1W only has 14ms lag. Not sure on this one.
Shame this doesn't have any DisplayPort connections for use on graphics cards.

What is it like using a 32" TV as a monitor? I previously had a 27" monitor that was Full HD which was lovely but many folks seem to think a TV is not as good as a proper monitor. On the flip side it strikes me that a Smart TV is really just a computer with a TV app.

Why would I need a Smart TV, what can it do for me? I've got a Firestick and Amazon Prime for the next 6 months, what happens after that if I don't renew?

Bought this TV from John Lewis a couple of weeks ago, customer return for £149. Really nice TV, came with 5 year guarantee too, and it was brand new. Would recommend this TV, really clear picture, works well with my PS4, and plays all the files I throw at it

It also has dvi , so lack of VGA is not a problem. Most gfx cards will have dvi or hdmi nowadays.

Don't know if Its just me but I bought a new bedroom tv the other week, I was going to go for a 32" but they look really small. I went for 40" and definitely wouldn't want any smaller. Although bedroom is same size as living room. Just saying either look in shop or get the size and cut some cardboard to size, you may be surprised.

I've currently got a 28inch CRT which is a beast with a 3 to 4 inch frame around! I measured a 40inch against it and it's even bigger, and considering it would be nearly all screen, quite scary!!

Great picture but sound is just ok
My only annoyance is that you can't rearrange the channel sequence for the epg or channel changes. The manual states you can but it never saves the changes. Missing smart features are irrelevant really as you can get far superior features from a £30 android box.

Samsung do implement Plex quite well on their smart models though, which is great if you run it etc...well it's miles better than LG's paid app!

Both our Samsung TVs have the option to rearrange channels,I swapped over 101 HD to 1 etc so only have to press button once.
you have to press enter twice at the last input to save,be strange if this was omitted in later sets !

Halifax bank account holders have 5% cashback for Argos purchases. Nice
The Samsung i have now only has 14ms input lag which is very good for a tv. It's 5 years old now though.
Won't find a tv in this price range which will match that.
I have also noticed it is very difficult now to find input lag specs on the tv now. I even looked at the Samsung website and manual and nothing in there. Samsung now use a PQI rating. Should be made legal that all tvs have the same input lag/response rate numbers so we can compare them easily without them being able to hide behind their own numbers.
Samsung use resolution, colour, brightness, contrast, motion, noise reduction and immersivity for determine the PQI.
So if the tv has a higher maximum resolution, it would have a better PQI rating, even if the input lag was worse at 1080p.
I have gone for this tv to go next to my 2nd Samsung, just a note only two HDMI and no display port. Check with your Graphics card, which outputs you have.

Hi guys - bit gutted as just seen this deal and it seems its OOS both in store and for delivery.
Im wanting to buy something similar but kind of need to pick it up today - can anyone recommend any 32 inch decent TV deals on at the moment such as argos, pc world, currys etc where i might be able to just go along and pick up in store please?

Does anyone know the exact depth of this TV without the stand? JL, RicherSounds and Argos all report different measurements.
Ordered this from Amazon on the 10th at £177. Was awaiting stock allocation and delivery date.
Yesterday, this came back in stock from Amazon with Prime, which I could have delivered Wednesday, although it was £230. I contacted support and they told me to wait for my order status to change.
My status hasn't changed and is still awaiting a delivery date and it's now out of stock again (from Amazon).
Phoned to complain this morning as they appear to be selling at a higher price to new customers and not fulfilling existing orders at £177. Had 15% (£26.65) credited back to my card and I'm still awaiting a delivery update.

Back in stock at John Lewis. Ordered from there and submitted a price match.

16/12 Argos seems not to have had stock for a while and is now back to £229 so expired and no use for price matching.
