Don't like the fact that tablets seem to be going the iPhone route i.e. 4:3 aspect ratio. Good for viewing photos but not watching films. You'll want a 16:9 or 16:10 screen for that.

Can anyone tell me the best deals on a tab s or tab s2 - either version will do. It seems PCWORLD is all out of stock of this deal.
Cheers.

Those who managed to get this tab AFTER 1st DEC look at this post -
Awesome deal thanks! Saved me from a similarly priced grey import :sunglasses:

Who knows what the retailers have in store for us. Even if you order from currys/pcworld now, I'm sure you can return it within 14 days if it's unopened?

I think it's a pretty nice bit of kit for the price. Screen is average but performance is very snappy and feels close to stock Android running Nova Launcher. I wanted an Android tablet as I was moving over from the Apple side and was actually about to get a 2013 Nexus 7 but then noticed the updated Shield tab had been released. No regrets so far!

I've had my 10.5 for some time now and it is fantastic
BUT .... 16gb is very limiting media etc wise - if you subscribe to the likes of Sky Go, Amazon Video etc
as when you go on holiday they will only "save" to your internal storage, so even though I have a 64gb MicroSD inserted - I am very limited in amount of content I can take around on the hoof
32gb is far more usable

I got one on contract with o2 the day they released it. absolutely love it... don't really use my laptop now.
The lower res screen does mean better battery life, hence it's balanced out with a smaller battery.
nice and thin, silky smooth operation and the finger print sensor works spot on.
you'll have no regrets buying this tablet, it is a masterpiece.

Not great for movies, shows, or games etc. The aspect ratio of the s tab is much better & has a better battery life. Samsung are struggling to sell the s2 hence the low price!

I was originally miffed when I saw this as I too bought the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 from Tesco. However, the Tab S has a 16:10 aspect ratio (more pixels), bigger battery and a flash for pictures (not really important). The only difference is that the S2 is lighter, smaller (due to screen as it's now 4:3) and comes with 32GB vs 16GB (but I put a 64GB SD card in straight away).
This is also an interesting comparison - I think the S is actually the better tablet:
p.p.S. the new hotukdeals app is awful!!! never seems to refresh for me.

I missed the 10.5 tab S deal and am really considering the bigger version. is £300 really a deal for that though (assumption that topcashback is rejected). currently have the gpad 8.3 which I've put Marshmallow on and it is still lovely. decisions decisions. my gut tells me that this will get cheaper during black Friday but most likely I'll be wrong....

Topcashback is 10.5% for tablets from currys too......

i bought one a while back and i have to say its got a fantastic battery life, my old lenovo s8 would play a certain game for just over 2 hours flat, ive never had this run out on me yet throughout a day, it really has an epic battery
its silky smooth and has never locked up on me or anything, had 2 large updates so far and im hoping for further updates just to keep it upto date with android. i tried out most tablets i could find and this is up there with the very best, well worth the money

Thought the s has a bigger battery than the s2? Sorry just realised you were talking about the 8.4 not the 10 .5 my bad

Pretty good reviews for this, Marshmallow update rumoured to be on the way next year and now a very good price.
Shame I bought a Shield K1 a couple of days ago! Heat added.

Thinking of replacing a Nexus 7 (2012) for it.
