Ive had the lg g4 g3, note 4 Oppo2 i can hands down say this phone has the best and smoothest os experience this side of ios ( i have a 6 plus aswell). Superb screen Greta multitaskng. Though a warnjng the battery is probably the worst of all the models i had. I picked up an apptronix battery case for $20 winch sorted that issue. Stupid autocorrwc

How bad is the battery? I keep hearing this but what sort of on screen time? Conservative use?

Great phone for great price, the best of Android. Shame Samsung hobbled (Apple'd) it by omitting micro-sd, a replaceable battery and waterproofing, otherwise it would have wiped the floor with all of the opposition.

The S6 is better than my old S3 for battery life. I charge mine once a day and its on roughly 16hrs.

What sort of on screen time do you get? I know it won't be Moto G levels but decent enough? The camera seems really good and the size of phone isn't a phablet.

as with all these things, it depends what is important to you. the LG has a better camera and removable battery / sd card slot. the Samsung has a better screen.

You can adjust the screen time to suit the user. Mine is only on when the phone is in use

I brought a lg g4 from a thread on hduk last Saturday. Always had a Samsung galaxy phone. These are my thoughts -
For me I wanted a bigger screen but not note size so the LG g4 ticked that box for me.
Removable battery
Sd card slot
Reasonable price
Excellent reviews
Decent headphones included
Excellent screen quality

Why ON EARTH do people think Samsung phones are worth having? Rubbish support/updates (i.e. updates make phone worse not better) and Touchwiz drains performance from decent on-paper specs.(and budget phones are DREADFUL). I wonder when people will realise?

Updates make all phones slower over time. They add more features, security fixes etc and I am sure are in many cases designed to make you feel the need to upgrade. I find Apple are worst offenders, but LG, Motorola, Samsung etc hav followed their lead. Some people like Touchwiz, although I find most of the features gimmicky. One thing for sure is that the S6 is one of the best built, highest spec phones available. It also has s great camera, great screen and costs substantially less than its main rival. There are plenty of reasons for buying one. According to most professional review sites it is the best Android phone of 2015, and either the best or second best phone period.
Lack of micro-sd and replaceable battery are IMO the S6's main weaknesses, but at least the base model comes equipped with 32GB memory and the battery accepts wireless charging.

I would like one with more memory but if you select a black 64gb it's £496.45! & for 128gb it's £611.03!!! It is daylight robbery to charge this amount of money for memory, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask! What is your excuse SAMSUNG!

Yes, and the G4 is a great phone. For some it may be a little too big and for others perfect. The chipset is not quite as fast as Samsung and LG does add some of its own bloat ware, but micro-sd and replaceable batteries are a huge plus.

I don't agree the S6 is the best phone out there - for starters lack of the SD slot disqualifies it. The spec is mainly bragging rights I think - Touchwiz means it will never perform to the spec's potential, where other phones perform better in the real world due to lighter/no skin. Battery life is rated poor. This is not what you should expect from the best or even second best phone when other phones out-perform significantly in this area, and have expandable memory - these are not slight issues, these are core issues for the usability. The top spec may be useful for gamers (I don't know anyone who plays 3D games on their phone FWiW) but a slight dip in this and the camera is more than made up in other areas by other phones. Touchwiz is more personal but I totally believe that steps away from vanilla android tend to be steps in the wrong direction, and Samsung take more steps than most and the performance tends to show. A truly great phone is more well rounded - I think Samsung has the "halo effect" but it absolutely escapes me why. Would never buy them again, don't believe the hype.

No phone is perfect. If there was such a beast then we would not see refreshes every year. The S6 does not have the strongest battery and it lacks micro-sd (as I have commented in two previous posts). However, 32GB will be sufficient for most people, and so will the battery. The S6 currently has the strongest Processor, the best screen technology, one of the (if not the) best cameras, and is the prettiest and best-built of Android phones. It is not perfect.
For those who need micro-sd and replaceble/larger batteries there are other choices, many of which are far cheaper than the S6.

I agree no phone is perfect, I think that was my point - but the best phone is surely the most well-rounded, and I don't think the S6 fits that bill. Unless you have very specific needs the S6 is not the best. I really think Samsung have somehow positioned themselves as the premium Android phone company, in spite of the facts, clever them.

I do like the size of the S6 over the G4 hence looking at it more in recent days. How bad is the battery? Will it be better than my Nexus 5 or something like the Moto G? I would at least expect it to last a full day? A lot of reviews say the G4 camera is good. Is the S6 on par or nearly as good to capture photos and videos of say the kids?
