Can't agree, I'm afraid. Cloud storage costs in terms of data transfer, but more importantly a failed battery (pretty common) will cost you at least £100 and involve sending the phone back - rather than £12 and a one minute change. Also much easier to carry a small spare battery around than an external battery pack. It's a downgrade in reality (because it means you're far more likely to have to replace the phone) but Samsung cleverly dress it up as an upgrade.

I am just wondering.. on ebay I saw note 4 described as a new other (missing packaging) for £299. So packaging is costly lol if on amazon price is 363.99... or maybe this ebay one is fake?

Amazon don't care about losses, their woeful packaging and their awful Amazon Logistics operation. That's what happens when you become so big and customers throw themselves at you.
BUT they do and CAN bar your account if you create too much hassle for them even if its clearly not your fault.

How right you are. Amazon puts across a very cuddly image but under the facade it's a ruthless company and you cross it at your peril. As many ex-customers have found out to their cost.

My note 4 arrived in the fold up packaging. I put my hand in at the end of the packet and pulled our the phone without opening any seals. Fortunately the phone was intact and had not been replaced with a fire stick. I would of expected a £360 phone to arrive in more secure packaging.

Don't Amazon provide free returns which are tracked as soon as they are scanned at the post office? I returned a Roku box and had a email saying that the parcel was in transit and a refund had been issued.

Good Luck in getting it delivered without it being pilfered by Amazon Logistics, as in my case. The mandatory Lithium-Ion battery sticker on the package is a dead give away to the pilferers at Amazon Logistics.
BTW I did try and opt for local Post Office delivery BUT Amazon don't give you the option if you pay in part or whole using an Amazon Gift Card - utterly bizarre !!

Same here I ordered another one on 17th Dec and received a firestick instead box clearly tampered with!
Sent back firestick per their instructions as a wrong item received via recorded delivery as the firestick was only worth £50 and looks like royal mail might have lost that!

Or get a phone that's good without fiddling around and get some of your life back. The S3 needs more than a different launcher by the last update - it was running at a crawl even after a lot of mucking around with wiping the cache partition and lots of other tweaks suggested by the internet. It's just not acceptable for a flagship phone. Never buying Samsung again,

It's easy to tell by installing a vanilla android rom, but my note doesn't lag, reacts instantly to what i do, so i don't see the need to remove touchwiz, i owned an s4 and s5 and removed touchwiz on those, but the Note handles it without any issue, i expect if i run pointess benchmarking apps it will tell me it's slower, but it has zero real world affect for my day to day usage
jazzuk777
17 Dec 15#25
For this price I'd rather have a Moto X Style or a 6P. Touchwiz is awful as are Samsung's updates.

18 Dec 151#47
I rather doubt it. Note 5 has been crippled (no replaceable battery and no card slot) so demand for Note 4 is likely to continue to be high. In fact a lot of Note 4 users (and there are two in this house) simply will not buy Note 5 because of what Samsung have done to it. There will be no Note 5s in this house - it joins the ranks of all the Apple phones that are on the blacklist.

Cold from me... was available from Amazon Italy sub 300 a few days ago, will likely be available again.
Hot from me - managed to grab a Black one - with my new Nationwide CC and their Rewards offer got it for £313.99 (£25 off for a new Nationwide CC and another £25 off for their Rewards scheme).

Lol, I should have said every other spec is similar, just highlighting the advantages of Nexus 6P
jazzuk777
17 Dec 15#32
The 6p is a better phone all round and will get better support too. Samsung's history is absolutely relevant - it's called a track record - and anyone who is not a Samsung fanboy would be wise to look elsewhere. It seems many people don't know other people actually make Android phones sometimes....

S3??? why you still harping on about that??? it's several years old now, we've all moved on, as i stated before your comments seem a bit out of date!
the S3 came out in 2012, it will be 2016 in a few weeks
The Note 4 has enough ram and cpu power to run touchwiz with no issues
jazzuk777
17 Dec 15#28
I buy a phone to use not to piddle around with, I want it to be good out of the box, especially for the money that Samsung charge.I don't understand why S have the reputation they do, their software is rubbish and their updates kill decent hardware. The s3 was utterly unusable by last update even though it had similar spec to a Moto G. Android is best when it's uncluttered. If you want proof the mid range chip in a Moto X Play was matching an 810 in a flag ship in some tests.
jayjayuk1234
17 Dec 15#26
That's a bit like saying a laptop is overpriced because you don't like windows, then install linux!.... if you don't like touchwiz? just remove it and install another rom, but to be honest, your complaints are mostly out of date, touchwiz flies on this phone, as it has more than enough memory for it

Loved the note 3, Bought Note 4 on release date again cracking bit of kit but got the apple twitch a few weeks later so grabbed a 6+. The Note does have a few issues and stuff on it id never use and the simplicity of apple won me over. For some mad reason thought the note 4 was not as big as note 3 (no idea why) but build quality was way better. But I have to say if I went android again the note 4 would be top of my list, Note 5 looks crap so don't bother with it

If you like android and want bigger phone than buy and enjoy . Maybe will be 300 some time next year summer When they will stop production of the phone it self.
The reason to go with note 4 :
1 Price and Quality ration for £363 when Iphone £600 You can buy 2 phones one for wife / girlfriend
2 Screen 5.7 Amoled
3 SD card You can add 64 GB samsung memory card just for £15 = 32 Internal + 64 SD = 96 GB memory in total
4 S Pen Im not using every day but sometimes very handy for web sites or working with files etc ... where need accuracy
5 Camera the best around camera - Note 5 the image is sharper but very unrealistic + saturated where note 4 have this nice balance not to over sharp + keep nice colour Yes the are better spec on Note 5 1.9 Lens etc better low light etc I can not remember when I take pictures in complete dark as pointless
6 Cover and accessories half price as as phone is older : ) Bought wireless charger case for £25 original where if it is new £50
anyway it is you decision

Never asked for you to agree - i merely provided my thoughts - but you are still far off. Cloud Storage costs? So Google Photos costs? (It doesn't) and i am pretty sure for the length of time that you will probably have the S6 or S6 Edge - you are guaranteed to be offered 100GB storage for FREE.
Failed battery on the S6 or S6 Edge is not 'common' at all so i am not sure where you getting these facts from.

Note 4 also has a metal body and the design is superior. Removable battery is vital for me, if I ever go camping or fishing I can change my battery within seconds and have a phone that fully charged whereas with other phones you have to wait for the to charge and mess around with charging cases.
Sd card again is vital for me. You can use upto 128gb sd card which is great. I am disappointed with the note 5 as I was excited at launch but since it hasn't got a removable battery or sd card I guess il be waiting

Hardly call the Note 5 or even the S6 a 'downgrade' - the processor and design is far superior. SD card slots are a now a thing of the past and people can live without them through the benefit of having cloud storage and removable battery - yes handy but not a necessity.

I think this is better than the new s6 edge plus as the replacement battery and sd card makes up for the slower processor.
