Lol typical mainstream brainwashing at work there, I have said before it was only a few years ago people were saying 1080p wasnt worth it unless you at LEAST had a 37 inch screen.
But the mainstream public always believe what they are told.
I still know people who rave about having a 1080p tv then connect via things like scart and composite and just go "but its still hd as the tv is"
Or people who plug in a hdmi cable thinking they have good knowledge only to not change it from 480p lol

This is sub-HD. Steer clear technology neophytes as this is 720p resolution max, or 'HD-Ready' only and not even HD. You can spend a little more and get true HD screens at similar sizes.

It isnt just friends and family though, its online or friends of friends they think its just about owning a HDTV with the most numbers, its the same type of people who think having like a 50 inch Alba tv is better than a 40 inch Samsung just because its bigger.

Potential for 10% Quidco on this too - had to check the amount but specifically says TVs up to 30"!

It's probably better at being a 50" TV than the 40" Samsung :stuck_out_tongue:

Hot from me. With the manufacturers, shippers and high street supposedly all taking a margin whatever must the production cost of one of these be?

Just more proof people believe marketing gimmicks, it IS HD its just resolutions are getting higher and higher, in a few years 1080p wont be seen as HD.

Struggling to reconcile the fact anyone would want a £99 24" TV when you could have a 32" for the same price (pretty much, actually the same on black friday).
Hm, need to insert some stupid comment to reinforce the point...
"Bah! My smart watch has a bigger screen than this!"

I'm not sure how this is 400 degrees, 720p 24" for £100? you can get a 24" 1080p monitor for cheaper pretty much any day
Apocalypse451 to JackoGuitarist
10 Dec 15#26
True. However most monitors that price range have abysmal or no speakers, and are generally a bit messy hooking consoles up to. Unless you can provide links for monitors that top this deal around the £100 Mark, it's a moot point.

Maybe a noob question and nothing directed at anyone, but for my own knowledge, why is this a good deal? I saw 1080p monitors of the same size at around this price, this is 720p and ordinarily I thought monitors are more expensive than TVs? Can someone shed some light please?

Just question my self ?
1 People buy this TV because it is cheap and they do not know where to spend the money
2 People buy this TV because just to have 10 TV in the house Kitchen , Toilets, Bedrooms , etc ...
3 People buy this TV because it is on the deal and I must have as well , because it is cheap (all buying Im joining)
4 People buy this TV because they do need one in the kitchen + they do not care about parameters
5 2 People buy this TV because they can not spend extra 100 Pound and get proper TV ??
Anyway cheap cheap cheap cheap Im so cheap

Not a bad deal but is this a better buy, FHD ( does it makes much difference at this size) and 22" if you can live with 2" less but I think this is a bit more stylish and has smart features if that's your thing.
Auto correct! What I meant to say was
"720p? Got one more telly!"
Great deal, or not..

I bought a Sammy LED 24" back in 2013 for £110, I think, and it was worth it. Picture quality-wise it looks fantastic and while it supports 1080p you're not going to get to experience a full 1080p experience on a small screen so if that's a concern, buy a much bigger HDTV.

It's a good deal if you want a tv for the kids room or a bedroom. You're not going to see a whole lot of difference between 720 and 1080 at that size unless you're gaming on it or really up close, so if it's across the room in a bedroom it's fine.
Received it on Monday, no complaints about the screen as it's in the kitchen and full HD is not going to be noticed much. Much better than a pricer generic brand TV we had though (albeit prices have fallen since then).
