I have this unit and it works really well. Only tip I can give is change a few of the DIP switches on both the thermo and the receiver before you install.as this will make sure your unit does't clash with any others.

is it worth replacing Honeywell T6360B1028 Room Thermostat with this one? I'm not sure about easiness of wiring salus rt500rf instead of Honeywell T6360B1028 Room Thermostat

I am not disputing that others get on fine with this but I have it at the moment and am waiting for a good nest deal to swap.
Complex to programme and even then it seems to fire up the boiler when it shouldn't. (Last night i had it set for 19degrees and even when it was showing the temp to be 21, it was still telling the boiler to keep on.
Will not vote either way.

Could be wired incorrectly. These work fine if wired correctly and you shouldn't have the issues that you do.
Haven't voted as this is about the right price for this unit. It can be had on that well known auction site for £32.88 including postage at the moment from more than one seller.

Agree with darrenrapley. I too thought this was a straight forward prog/stat but found the hardest bit being to make any sense of the setting up. Had to do a search on diynot to find someone who could throw light on how to make any sense of it(why re invent the wheel springs to mind). Looks clean and easy but very deceiving :disappointed: voted hot for price

Image and description is for the IT300 NOT IT500. (totally different) Worth getting it clarified before ordering. However if it is the IT500 at this price then it's a great deal, I have one great bit of kit no issues control heating from phone etc

This deal is for the RT500RF although it does state RT300RF in parts of the description. This cannot be controlled via your phone unlike the iT500 which you mention for some unknown reason.

Sorry my bad. Honest mistake, I saw 500 in title and 300 in description and thought it was an error. It500 which I mention again for another unknown reason is a great bit of kit. You can calm down now.

Sorry I don't agree. It's not a issue of connectivity , it's a issue of user being friendly and straight forward to program (all of which it's not )

I've had one of these break within a year and a different Salus model break in a few months, I wouldn't buy one again and I know plenty of plumbers that say they are rubbish too....

Im in the negative camp. Ended up ripping mine off the wall ( obviously after having it disconnected by my plumber ) tried all different wireless combos, just seemed to stay on when in the off zone or ask for heat when above the set temp
That was rt300

Can a fellow HUKD member help pls...we've got a Eco tec 838 valiant boiler in our new house without a controller and we've no idea what to get. There seems to be some knowledge on this thread, do we go for something like this salus but wireless, Honeywell all the way? Or vailants own wireless one that's £150? I've heard a lot about the Nest 2 and Hive (very catchy jingle) would one of those negate the need for this kind of thermostat? I'd really appreciate some unbiased up to date advice.

Ive got ecotec plus 831 and have this programer/thermostat. It's cheap and does the job perfectly fine.
If setup properly it will do the job as good as any other.
Honeywell is good make generally but with their thermostats reviews are bit mixed as reliability has been issue with some models.
In terms of hive or nest I don't have one myself but only extra functions they have are wirelessly controllable from your phone and the fact they turn heating off if you not home.
If I had budget of £100 plus I would have gone for vaillant weather compensator as it fine tunes your heating by maximising economy and comfort and it can be fixed in the boiler. It also has timer.
