My local Tesco in Holywell had a few of the Russell Hobbs Purity Kettle on the shelf reduced to £12.50. Seems to be around £30 everywhere else so a good deal if you're after a kettle.

I wouldn't touch Russell Hobbs. They allowed customers to continue buying dangerous irons, over a year after they knew they were faulty and customers had received severe electrical burns.
We had been using a dangerous iron for 6 months before seeing it on watchdog.
Appalling company. I wouldn't have one of they're products for free.
Shame not online as would of bought one, heat anyway.

Their kettles and toasters are fine. Been using them for over 5 years without any mechanical problems. Irons are another matter and I avoided them so far.

had this for 2 years! great kettle but doesnt hold much water and gets expensive to replace the cartridges.
Good quality, boils fast but is pricy to keep going!

great kettle but as above, doesnt hold much water and is expensive to keep replacing the filters, can leave the filter out if preferred.

Fantastic price OP!
Have to agree, great kettle, filters quickly and you can actually start boiling before it has finished filtering (I usually wait about 10 secs after filling from the tap).
We had the Breville Brita Kettle before which developed a common problem with the lid, absolutely no probs with this Russell Hobbs one 2 years later.

We've got one of these and love it. We've have the older model for years but this one is quicker and quieter. Makes. A huge difference. to the taste of tea

Its a year old & had they not been exposed they'd still be conning & deceiving the public.
There's a reason why they now have to sell their goods at half price

Glad someone else see's the point.
It might be old news and only have affected irons, but it shows that they don't give a stuff about customers safety and as you say, they only took action when they were exposed.
That's enough to stop me from giving them my custom anyway.

I'm sure they are, but your missing the point. It is the company's attitude towards the safety of they're customers that is the issue.
Each to their own, but I certainly wouldn't support they're company with my cash.

I stopped using them on the day they were exposed.
Next day I returned an iron which I had bought few days earlier. It wasn't one of the listed ones but there was no way I would keep it
Their prices have dramatically tumbled in those 2 years.
Its one thing to identity a mistake & issue a recall & deception/negligent to cover it up!!

Fair enough, I brought my RH appliances before Watchdog exposed them but never brought anything from that point on but yeah it's down to us individually to decide.
