Was going to wait until the Jan sales to buy a vacuum, as I've just moved house, but saw this and the reviews of the upright are great - don't know about the handheld, but for £35 you can't really complain.
Manufacturer refurbished; which can mean it was sent back for servicing, or as an unwanted gift, etc. They have a 12 months warranty and are refurb units have to go through an additional quality control check - so they're as good as, if not better than the sealed unit.
Next day shipping too.

I realise this has expired but it will probably come back in stock again so I would just like to say that I bought this offer as a Xmas present for my daughter (yes she wanted a vac to replace her broken one:) )
After giving it her today she has just rung me to say she is over the moon with it ...she says it picks up really well ...better than her old Dyson did (overrated and overpriced in my opinion).
It arrived quickly and the price was fantastic.
Would definitely recommend if they come back in stock.

I ordered a Vax vacuum cleaner from this company a couple of months ago. The wheel fell off so asked them to send a replacement part, but they wanted it returned as it was 'too technical' for me to stick one on! Got a replacement, and that one was faulty too - the handle would pull out and detatch when used. Eventually got a refund after much arguing with them (they wanted to send me parts to fix myself - they were quite insistent and really didn't want to refund me), then struggled with Paypal to prove it had been returned (they arranged collection so I had no documentation). They did refund me themselves, however. The items looked as new but I just don't think they check their products very well.

I don't think it is manufacturer refurbished I think it has been refurbished by the seller because it says “Direct Vacuums is the only authorised refurbisher and reseller of, AEG, Electrolux, Hoover, Vax and ”
