the Pine is Kickstarter, could be a load of vaporware, they always stick on an unreasonable amount of worldwide delviery change and if it doesn't have any issue isn't available until march earliest unless your one of the first backers

What winds me up is how they have none of the boards for sale on their own, but if you want to bundle it with crappy adapters that everyone already owns, they've got loads..

They did have the boards on their own at 12o'clock (I bought one) - but they sold out within the hour

How many they allocated to bundles is anyone's guess.

been on the lookout for the magpi magazine for weeks but it's impossible to find. might go for the £11.50 option though - I suppose considering i'm willing to pay £6 quid for the magazine, it's not that much of a leap to £11.50

I have one and an official wifi usb . It dosent work . I gave up as it was driving me insane. Im waiting on a usb ethernet cable so hopefully that works .

you're supposed to include shipping on here, so the cheapest is £6.50 for a bare zero, and they're out of stock.

and yes the $19 pine would be brilliant, but its kickstarter so i'll believe it when i see it, and i'd like to see kodi for linux running on it before i believe their 4k graphics claims.

all of 5v 2-5 amps, hardly makes any difference, just the same as people charging ipads, tablets or phones

Did it just plug and play. I have the white wipi one. Its in a multi hub with keyboard and usb in it. It comes up and i fill in the router password and it looks like it is working but it wont update in the console and the browser wont connect.

Considering the "difficulty" of mining a 1 BTC and the low computing power of the Pi Zero, though I don't know how much power it would take, it would take a VERY long time to make anything worth shouting about...

Nobody uses a Pi to do the crypto, that's all handled by a hardware ASIC. The Pi just acts as an interface controller to connect to network and to run an app like CGMiner etc.

Yet another quotation of a USA price without adding on the tax that we have to pay here. Yes they're $5, but add the equivalent of our VAT at 20% brings them to $6 which is pretty much equivalent to £4 (today's conversion brings it to £3.96).

Top end GPUs have been useless for mining for a long time.
Hashing is done by dedicated ASICs now, Pis act as the network interface / controller / CGMiner host.

Interesting. They still look very much like a GPU the ones I just looked at anyway... I suppose just with all the unnecessary graphics card functions removed. I took a passing interest once but was put off because after hardware investment which probably has very little if any resell value and then electricity costs, you're lucky to make much at all.

I managed to order the £11.50 bundle in the end, with the zero, the case and adaptors for £14 delivered so i'm happy with that.

No idea what i'll do with it when it arrives mind, but i'm glad i've got one.

That's assuming the Bitcoin exchange price stays low. Its grown from about £150 to just under £300 in the last few months, if it keeps going then there is money to be made. Of course it could go the other way, but that's what speculation is about.

I see. It peaked it 2014 and sunk in 2015 but on the rise again now. So any coin you have mined and own goes up and down in value too, or it holds the value when you mined it?

Once you've mined the BTC then it's value changes according to the market rate relative to a fiat currency like $£€, so it goes up and down in value.
