As soon as you open a tub of these....a disgusting pungent smell hits you. And i mean..hits you. These chocolates are the most vile ever. bleeeueuuergh. will be on the phone to nestle tomorrow. i understand lidl is a discount store, but that does not mean that you can sell unwanted garbage to customers. (rant over)

Anyone remember the days when you could buy 2kg tins of roses & QS

Better still was the QS and Cadbury Roses glass jars they used to do. Remember back in the 1980s my Dad always used to repurpose empty ones for the homemade Pickled Shallots/Onions that used to go down a treat every Christmas.

no one wants to have a price change.
So, psychologically, it it has always been £4/5 then the tubs will shrink because of the raw materials (cocoa/suger etc) rising and to add inflation to the mix; hence less chocolates to fill the tubs.
You could also argue that it could be nestle/mondeloux/mars (if thats how you spell it) strategy of look how many tubs we have shifted..:man: for less product.

What strategies do people use , to stop eating the whole thing in a day or two. Do you guys do something like have three sweet at aparticular time of day or something?

Easy answer....don't kid yourself or your belly, I have learned the scales do not lie...stop avoiding getting on them, shock yourself like I did...it then makes you think about the calories you are shoving into your gob.

You can still get the 1.315kg tins as always. I think its a (not very) clever marketing ploy selling these for £4. A little over half the size of the 1.315kg tins for half the price. People get sucked into buying them thinking at first glance the tub is the same until opening them they realise there is nowhere near the same amount of sweets inside and convince themselves they are getting smaller..they are getting smaller but only fractionally, these smaller tubs used to be 820g and the tins 1.5kg
Somehow manages to fool a great number of HUKDers. The amount of times these are posted for £4 instead of the usual £5 RRP and gains ridiculous amount of heat defies logic.
Clearly the supermarkets each and every year put them on 'sale' at the £4 price point, and clearly at some time the RRP of £8.99 for the 1.315kg tins drops to around £7.
Now if only they would mark them up as 'small' and 'large' to avoid confusing the perception of shoppers that believe they are getting smaller.
