I saw this post at approx. 530pm, told my brother-in-law who lives in Banbury to dash down to his local HMV in Castle Quay... he did, got in just before store shut, no sign of a PS3 console, so asked store manager who pleaded ignorance, but rang up Oxford Street just in case it was national to be offer... couldn't get through (always busy, apparently :smile: ) but stated he would be amazed (and gutted) if it was a true offer... just my 2 pennies worth :man:

So the moral of the story is that some of the bigger HMV stores might have these. They are deadstock essentially.

Stores that will have them are the ones that just haven't cleared their stockrooms since HMV stopped stocking them.

But if you have a HMV near you, it's worth asking - you might get lucky.

In HMV Westfield, they had a mock box labelled up with the price discount, so I have no doubt that it is (or was) indeed genuine, I just think it's an absolute one-off that's probably unlikely to be repeated again. I still think it's not beyond the realms of possibility that some of the bigger stores around the country might have the odd one.
