That is interesting. They must have regional price differences?

Is this sweet? I don't normally drink wine but I am after something nice and sweet to drink at Christmas.

I'm guessing this is a 70cl bottle? Was trying to find the Aldi magnum earlier as a gift (way too late with that one, was on HUKD three weeks ago - my brother asked me to look). Might pick up a few of these if they're decent

£5.29 is the regular price for the DOC prosecco and £7.50 or something is the regular price for the DOCG prosecco. Which one is it? If it's the DOCG one it's a great deal.

Lilrach this is an extra dry so not for you. Louiselouise it is a full size bottle.
Just a s a christmas thought, we always have a prosecco buck's fizz on christmas day with a twist. I put about a shot of amaretto in the bottom of a glass (less depending on taste) and then half prosecco topped up with fresh orange

DOCG wines are supposed to be better quality so it's more expensive. Lidl do both a DOC and DOCG version and it should say somewhere on the bottle either DOC or DOCG usually on the label near the cork.

Good spot OP. This is one of the nicer supermarket Proseccos I've tried. I recall Lidl increased this to £7.50 a bottle around Valentine's Day and it has remained that price until now. It's worth noting that in the run up to Christmas 2014, Lidl reduced this Prosecco to £4.79 a bottle, so there might still be further reductions due.
£5.29 is still a good price though. Voted hot.

This is always this price. It is the cheaper of the two. The other one is still £7.50. Well it was yesterday evening.

Bruce boy you are right this is the DOC one, so looks like it is the normal price. We went today to get ours for christmas and I can see how we got them mixed up. Ours doesn't normally have the cheaper one, and the bottles were in the wrong place, so I didn't realise there were two types! Sorry for any confusion but I still think it is very good value for what it is. I have just bought quite a few as we normally buy the more expensive one because that is the only one they usually have.

Yes it is okay. My wife likes it. Really is all about personal taste. Winds me up a bit when someone states that this one is better than that one, it is only their opinion, best kept to themselves.

Wrong! The G in DOCG means guaranteed. It's not necessarily better quality. I know tons of rubbish DOCG Italian wines and excellent DOC or DOP wines. Really I need to know the brand to give it a go.

Yeah only the DOC for 5.29 bargain as it's normally higher in London Lidl's. the DOCG is £7.49
