Pop vinyl figurines are a mass produced and heavily marketed collectible, the word collectible used in the most ironic way possible. They are [relatively] cheap figurines with thousands of different versions from a wide range of mainstream and niche sources.
I have no idea why anybody would want to fill their home with them, from the perspective of both rarity or aesthetics. They will never be worth anything and they are ugly. If you're a fan of a particular series and want to display something from it, I would personally pay a bit more and buy a high quality figurine. Someone buys a lot of these things though so maybe I'm in the minority.

What is the big deal with these? What do they do??
A girl at work has a few on her desk - but she has the attitude of a 12 year old. Are they kids toys?? I don't get why people are going crazy for them!

I'm in the same boat as you. Had a look at one in Sainsbury's and it didn't seem like anything special. Presumably the high price must be because they've tapped into the "collectable toys for adults" market.

That'll probably be why some aren't actually mass produced at all and go for upwards of £100+ on sites like eBay.
The majority are collected 'just because'. It's something which relates to what they enjoy from the screen (typically, though they do have ones from games too).
To summarise, it's like an opinion - some people like it, others don't, but overall just try and cheer up you grumpy chumps.

Yeah they've been this price for a while but no one had posted about it when I searched.
I work at sainsburys so keeping my eye on debating on buying them seeing whether Jesus lower in price against if we had stock left. Seem to be selling through now
