Going from the Destiny Bundle PS4 (quieter than launch but still noisy as f) to Chassis C I'd say the noise difference is a real benefit unless you wear a decent set of cans all the time.

You can charge for postage & packaging costs on eBay so that shouldn't come into the equation.
£100 on eBay before fees is still considerably more than £68 from CEX. Fair enough if it was only £5-£10 but I agree with the other guy.

@21benson: the hardware is not the same.
The older is louder, in some games it may consume more 30 Watt in comparison to the new one, it has more ram modules (16) than the new one (8 ) and the it may also spit the CD's out in some cases.
So personally I definitely pass this out.

older one is louder only when it is demanded, using 8 modules of ram instead of 16 is what's making the new one more efficient and quieter, matte cover and physical buttons
spitting the CD out is an easy fix and only launch consoles were affected.
personally I would not be bothered by these changes at all, only real benefit anyone would notice is that 1tb hard drive

Did you factor in the eBay fees, postage and headache etc etc? I'd rather accept the £68 with one visit to cex, than the listing, paying fees, packaging the games, taking them to the post office, paying the post office for delivery etc etc.

If you use a Visa card and know how much commission your bank charges, you can use this to check how much you will be charged:
Great deal on paper, but if you were to go off CEX trade in prices, you'd get £68 for the games, making the console £205, which is kind of so so.

Isn't the whole point to buy it then play the games first before trade in plus aren't you meant to go by the price of the games to buy before calculating the cost of the ps4 plus even if you do trade after playing you still get to play the games then trade after so even after that you get the ps4 for 205 which seems good to me

No. The new one is just a bit quieter as some of the first models were reported to have loudish fans. I have one of each and the old model can get a bit noisy sometimes compared to the new one which is very quiet, but it seems to depend on the game. Rocket league makes it sound like an actual Rocket! The new one uses a bit less power (about 8% I believe) and is a bit lighter - if you don't sit very close to it whilst playing and you don't take it out for walks often, you won't notice the difference. The rest of the hardware is the same

The pics are all of the old one and the God of War bundle box says 116A so I doubt it will be the new model
