My car stereo is bust, so been looking for a replacement.
Appreciate you can buy a new stereo for £20 but this connects to your phone and let's you use maps etc.
With £75 off its the best deal I've seen for a CarPlay device. Plus it's cheaper than buying a new car!
Website says they'll fit it for £30

Cd/DVD so outdated these days, usb playback more than sufficient, but each to their own, I'd rather have the £70 in my pocket!

So everything the 5700 can also do?
Cant remove fascia which i would rather have the option for depending on where i park (especially driving West Ham sometimes).
only 6" compared to 7"
Also offers CD/DVD.
Just think paying an extra £70 seems worthwhile.

Note that this also works with Android, and the Play Store have an app which allows you to mirror your Android device onto the screen which is quite nice.

Wonder how this would work in my VW with the front and rear parking sensors and reversing camera, also would the steering wheel controls still work.

Ive got an avic and had CarPlay from day 1. Used CarPlay for a day and didn't bother after that. You have to plug in for CarPlay and music does not resume. All I want to do is get in turn the key listen to music and have hands free simple.
Too much messing for me. It may be really good but I don't use it.

And do you really need to connect via cable for all features?

I'm looking at a new stereo but am swaying towards the pioneer 5700 dab. Due to the fact you can remove fascia and it has dab.
80 quid more than this currently. Has this one got any benefits?

Loads, store your films/music on a usb flash drive, CarPlay works seamlessly (Siri especially useful while driving), connects to rear headrest screens (if you have them), can add a rear view camera cheaply. Easy to fit and configure too.

Why don't these car play units seem to have dab? Don't want to be relying on a data connection all the time

It's been this price for a few weeks now. Didn't get it because A the resolution is really low, and B CarPlay is meant to suck at the moment.

If you're looking for a souped up version of this Pioneer CarPlay with a few more bells and whistles - CD, DVD, SatNav, USB etc - I can vouch for this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00IKMO8GM

Great find, have some heat. Not sure if I will be replacing my focus in the new year, otherwise I would go for one of these. Anything is better than a Ford stereo!

Very tempting. Good find, heat added. Does fitting include all parts as in wires and cables or is that an additional charge?
