Very Hot deal, 1xtra and USB and AUX for £40 can't be bad! I know you need the DAB antenna but still, great deal.
I wish all cars still used this sort of stereo instead of the big bulky factory fitted units that you can't remove (not without great effort and expense). This is part of the increased agenda of planned obsolescence by car manufacturers to shorten the lifespan of cars, cars nowadays have dual mass flywheels that start to break after 60,000 miles, complicated engines with complicated management systems, turbos and superchargers that require clean oil, variable valve timing, diesel particulate filters, swirl flaps, EGR valves, electronic stability management, most have timing belts, climate control systems that break and are prohibitively expensive to fix. The list goes on.
In my opinion, from what I have read and personal experience, the best cars to buy are simple naturally aspirated 90's- early 2000's Japanese petrol cars, and simple 90's-early 2000's German diesels and to a lesser extent basic French diesels (especially the naturally aspirated Peugeot Diesels). Avoid cars with DSG, Semi automatic, electronic automatic gearboxes. CVT can be ok in some cases, but proper torque converter auto's are best (Aisin brand auto boxes are probably the best). £500-£1000 gets you a good old Nissan, Honda, Toyota or VW/Seat/Skoda or Peugeot/Citroen n/a diesel, I regret buying a mid 2000's more complicated car, I should of stuck to my 1993 Micra that doesn't go wrong, and can be fixed very easily and cheaply. Lecture over lol

Why does driving an older car make u a chav? Maybe some people are so vain that they need to make themselves look better driving a new shiny car they dont even own, but most people are just happy getting to work not on the bloody bus!

Damn I was going to post this but was too afraid of the usual idiots whining about it not being double-din, doing the ironing, getting you a girlfriend and curing your acne. Seems my reticence was more than justified.....

tbh I hate the thought of a touch-only head unit - it's so difficult touching accurately and quickly when driving! I'll try and stick to buttons and dials for that kind of thing for as long as posisble!

MPG has barely improved over the last 20 years. Emissions on the other hand have improved drastically, but reduced emissions come at the cost of MPG, hence why MPG hasn't improved.

Also nearly all cars from 12 years ago till present eat engine oil. Factor that in too.

yeah its really worth buying a new car over an older one and spending in excess of 14k more to gain 10 or 20 extra miles per gallon :smirk:

You, sir, won the Internet today. Early nineties J tin is unbeatable. Personally, a '92 Eunos Roadster as my classic/ track car and a' 97 Impreza turbo as a daily of sorts fulfil my needs anyway. Stick a Bluetooth clarion and some Infinity speakers in and it'll sound better than any factory fitted system I've heard in the past 5 years. Besides, 2 grand for 0-60 in under 5 seconds and 4WD is properly cheap :sunglasses:
