I bought mine 3 years ago, wish I could have waited. What are they making these days???
A combination of sensitivity and performance, the Philips TT2040 Body Groom body trimmer has much to offer. Its integrated rounded blades and combs glide gently and effortlessly, giving you a close shave from the hypo-allergenic shaving head. This protects the skin, and lessens any irritation.

Bought this last year. Can honestly say the battery is terrible. Almost 10-12hours to fully charge for maximum of 30mins use.

Doesn't that depend on how much hair it has to cut ?

Battery life is poor on these. I got the impression that the battery deteriorates far quicker than any other product, mine gets 10 mins from full charge now.

Hi can anyone confirm this wull work on a scrotum? There’s nothing quite like a shorn scrotum. It’s breathtaking, really. I suggest you try it yourself.

The guide teeth on the long hair trimmer are rounded and pretty safe with loose skin. Probably a lot safer than using frickin' laser beams.

Where did you get 30 minutes non stop from? Thought it made more sense writing 30 minutes than 3-4 10min shaves. Never mind I don't mind breaking it down for the simpletons among us.

There are contradictions in the item listing. It states 8 hours charge time but towards the bottom of the page says 50 minutes cordless use after 1 hour quick charge
Had mine for over 2 years . would totally recommend it. 10/10 from me . wife uses a hovermow which Is not cordless nor wet'n'dry. but handles the bigger job. your choice I guess. :man:

Takes me 45 mins to an hour to shave, as I have to shave all my hair off my head as I am allergic (can't remember tec name, had it for over a year. Used to wake up with blood and puss on my pillow (I will understand if pic get's deleted)

Meh 30 minutes wont make a dent on the wife's bikini line or even her moustache.

Excellent product, but the life on my battery is also rather poor. It's the end that looks like a hair clipper that runs out of battery really quickly for me. The end with the foil head just keeps on going. I'm guessing that there are two batteries in the unit, otherwise I'm unsure why one side of the shaver would run out of power when the other side carries on working.

Clipper side shuts off when it's working too hard. Thinks it's clogged up. Try running it under the tap for a couple of seconds or use some beard trimmer oil on it.

Put that in google "TT2040"

Weird, this one should have 50 mins/1 hr charging type of battery, the one that takes 8 hours should be the TT2039 which is black instead of silver.
From Philips website:
Power system
Charging time
1 hour
Running time
50 minutes
Usage
Cordless only

There's two versions of this trimmer tt2040/00 (8 hour charge) and tt2040/32 (1 hour charge) see below:
Thanks, I'll give that a go. It tends to cut out on me when shaving my face, and I don't really have long stubble. If your advice works then you'll have saved me buying a replacement. Cheers

26 Dec 15#40
Not sure, the Tesco product specifications says 8 hour charge time so i'm guessing it's the /00.
But they have the manufacturer specifications below the reviews which says 1 hour charge time.
Also it DOES NOT take 8 hours charge time. More like less than 30 mins.
I have to say I m very happy with this product, especially those minor sideburns trims.

There are two versions if this shaver both are called TT2040 however with different sub models that are not mentioned on product description.
TT2040/00 takes 8 hours to charge
TT2940/32 takes 1 hour to charge
Obviously the second one is the good one,but sadly there is no way to find out which one is this deal.until you receive the actual product.
So hot if it's the 1 hour charge one and cold if it's the 8 hours charge model.

Thanks to your comment, I went about giving the clipper side of my shaver a good clean. What I didn't realise was that the clipper head lifts up and pivots away to allow cleaning underneath it. Let's just say that my issue was due to around 2 years of hair build up underneath the clipper head! Minging, but at least it's not the battery or unit at fault. That will teach me for not reading the manual!
Many thanks for pointing me in the right direction :-)

Collected mine and it is the 1 hour charge version not the 8 hour one. Great deal.
EDIT: You can check this further - With BG2040 and TT2040, the charging time depends on the serial number. Serial numbers 1152 and higher have a charging time of 1 hour. Serial numbers 1151 and lower have a charging time of 8 hours.
You can find the serial number underneath the shaving unit. (Figs 4 and 5)
