Cold, they don't deliver to England/Scotland/Wales. :sunglasses:
Couldn't help myself as there's a large group of people from Northern Ireland who vote cold on deals at places that charge extra to deliver to NI or don't deliver there.
Loving the price, you lucky sods!

The price at Rathcoole Filling Station has NOTHING to do with the current supermarket price wars etc on fuel.
The price today at Rathcoole is a yearly event by the filling stations owner .
Something along the lines of charging the same price per litre as when the refurbished filling station was first opened a few years ago - they do it every year on the anniversary of it reopening.
The price will revert back to "normal" tomorrow.
Still HOT though!!

Is it really worth these few pence for worse petrol?
triffid68
12 Dec 15#68
Petrol or Diesel won't come down much more as Tax + Duty + VAT is up to 70p whatever happens to the oil price and then the oil company (20-25p), distributor (pennies)and retailer (pennies) need to make a few pence or it won't be economic for them to do it.

I passed there last night, huge queue, much longer than normal.....and wondered why? I'll go early tomorrow, thanks

Plenty of places sell red diesel at the pump, but it can only be dispensed into a container and you have to provide name and address for every purchase.

Red Diesel currently 60p but theres always a risk of getting caught and a £1000 fine
A guy who regularly uses it told me he is been using for over ten years never been caught and even if he does he saved lot more than 1000s

Right, but there are a lot of illegal things we could do for financial gain. For example I could steal your wallet. If I steal enough wallets it doesn't even matter if I get caught once or twice. :smirk:

avoid red diesel. I know 3 people who spent big money getting their injectors replaced.... not worth the risk.

In Ireland (Southern Ireland for you guys) the petrol in some stations is 1.229 euro and diesel is 1.099 euro which works out at
Petrol £0.91 pence
Diesel £0.81 pence
Much nicer place than Northern Ireland.

Got to agree, petrol should be about 75p a litre at the moment, across Europe it's dropped so much in price so even at a £1 a litre we are still being scanmed.

Just because the price of oil is on par with 2009 don't forget there are 6 years of wage, tax, rates etc increases to be added in between then and now.
Or do we all feel like not having a wage increase each year so we can compare like for like. (yes i am aware some people haven't had pay rises each year)
The average price of diesel in 2009 was 100.74 ppl

Thats why you stick to symbol branded forecourts like Spar/Costcutter/Mace etc.Top is the largest Irish fuel importer.
"As many as two-thirds of Northern Ireland's petrol stations are selling illegal fuel supplied by paramilitary groups in a scam that is costing taxpayers up to £380m a year, the national audit office reports today."
