Now expired...price back up to 103.7p at the Asda in Lower Earley, Reading :disappointed:

Well thanks for telling us all that a deal that was due to terminate at midnight on Sunday 29th of November 2015 has now expired. What would we do without informants?

It doesn't actually pose any risk. The supposed risk is that you cause a spark that ignites fuel vapours. The only way this could really happen is if you intentionally took the battery out and short-circuited it. Your car actually poses more of a risk when you turn the key and the starter motor solenoid engages, so the signs saying no mobiles are completely stupid.

Argh. Landed Saturday night after an international flight and was exhausted. Dragged myself to my local on Sunday evening when they were closing at 5 and the pumps were dry. :disappointed:

That will be 1969 then, 10 years earlier when I first put petrol in my first car it was 13shillings and 4 pence so just 1 shilling per gallon rise in 10 years. Details provided by AA petrol prices 1896 to date.

I've only been in the O&G industry for 3 years so can't comment on how the industry was coping last time prices went like this. When I joined the company I work for, business was booming. It was like we had more work than we had hands to do it all.
Now companies all over the place are cutting their workforce just to save the company. It's really, really sad.

Happily Costco have their unleaded in Liverpool at 98.9 a litre. Just filled up there. Before people stamp their feet about membership "sigh", I am lucky that it is 5 minutes down the road, so membership pays on petrol savings over the year for me.

I'd say!
When I filled my first car up it cost me 14s 4d (in today's money, 0.74 pence) for a ...GALLON!!
And that was 5 star 101 octane if I recall.

I know I'm going to be the minority here, but I work in the oil & gas industry. The industry has seen so many jobs lost since the price of a barrel of oil nosedived. Think what you like about companies and governments profits being mega high or not. Jobs are still being lost.
I really hope prices don't go any lower.

Obviously don't agree. When prices were last like this there was no complaints of job losses. I only wish Scotland got their independence so I could watch them squirm. :man:

Jobs may be lost in oil, but these companies decided to employ lots of staff when the oil prices were high and reap the benefits. What goes up must come down...

Why have oil prices dropped like a stone in the last few weeks and Asda idea is to drop prices till Sunday .Sorry but this is cynical and quite hypocritical since they were not taking part in Black Friday .Just a shame that I managed to get my shopping for £0.34 pence today when it should have cost £46.67
