Still angry that after taking all that kickstarter money they've now sold out and now won't be offering cloud services for it after next year. What a way to treat the people who made you a success.

Keep in mind it's a bit of gamble for now. Pebble company has been partially sold to Fitbit, partially dissolved. Orders for Pebble Time 2 on Kickstarter cancelled, warranties void. Main question is how long their app store and servers will keep working.
This one is bit safer choice as you can rely on warranty from Currys. Expect more fantastic price drops soon thought

Hi ionuttd, I ordered this one from eBay 171848894803. Ordered on 6th January and arrived yesterday, cost £19 inc delivery. Just fitted it today and fits perfectly. Now have a fully waterproof watch and strap. Choice of colours.
You can get white only from richardtracybrand.com for $18 including delivery. They do the shank strap which was previously also available in black as well but they've sold out and won't be restocking (I emailed to check). HTH

I think on Android there are some settings which enable you to select which notifications you'll receive on your pebble, maybe the whatsapp msgs and normal txts aren't selected
On my iPhone all notifications are shown( a bit of a pain as I don't want to know that this app has been updated, or latest news from BBC News..)
have a look in settings on your android phone

Can anyone help
I'm having trouble setting my Pebble steel up
I have it connected to my Galaxy Note 4, all the software on the Note and Pebble are updated and current.
However I can receive text messages to my pebble and upload watch faces, but I cannot get Gmail nor whatsapp messages to show on my pebble.
I've been in all the settings and "enabled" Gmail and Whatsapp for notifications but nothing seems to be coming through.
Also read numerous guides but still no luck.
Anyone any ideas?

With the Pebble Time Steel, which uses standard watch bands, that won't fit the OG Pebble Steel, it uses a custom strap.

Mine came yesterday and is great, apart from the battery life which is absolutely awful. Went from a full charge at 6am when I took it from the charger, to 90% at 6:15am, 80% at 7:30 and was completely dead by 1pm, in spite of turning off vibration, backlight etc.
Opened a ticket with pebble support, not heard back yet.

Step counting on Misfit seems to be close to actual as far as I can tell. I don't own a dedicated 'band' to compare it with, but I once did the walk to work counting steps in my head and Misfit was close to my total, maybe 5% out.
Misfit on Pebble is great as it's self-contained so doesn't need a phone. It gives a graph of the last week's steps etc and daily stats on demand.

techno12
26 Dec 15#105
Real world for me it's always been around 12. It's gone down to 10 as I run Misfit in the background (fitness step/sleep tracker).
Though if I have a mad day with loads of texts etc (so its vibrating and updating the display more often) then I might have to charge it sooner.
Worst I've seen is around 5 days, a one off when I set an alarm (which vibrates) and forgot to cancel it so it repeated the next day etc at that time.

techno12
26 Dec 15#102
Yeah the proprietary strap is an odd choice. I got the steel one as an optional extra when I bought mine and it makes the whole thing look the business.
I never bothered with a screen protector as it's gorilla glass and there's not a single blemish on mine despite being worn daily for a year.
As I've had a Pebble since the original Kickstarter campaign I think they're great. If only for the vibrating alerts for texts, calls etc.
Could never go back to a normal watch.
The 10-12 day battery life is nice too, and plenty of warning when it's low and needs recharging (couple of days).
Oh, and it's fun to write a watchface. I did one when I first got my original Pebble - it displayed the time in words as I say the time, eg "nearly quarter to ten", " half past six " etc ;-)

What I found when I owned the original from the day of release is that because it has a plastic screen that this got scratched very easily. Also, the size could be a consideration. The Steel is 34x46mm whereas the Original is 36x52mm. Personally I found the original Pebble to be too tall and looked odd on the wrist.

I bought the steel recently for £105 (M&S £149.99 with £45 discount). Started wearing it Christmas today yesterday and I am so in love with it. You now use the Pebble Time app to manage it instead of the older pebble app. It's rock solid and works flawlessly! I've spent the whole day downloading apps and watch faces and messing around with it. Absolutely fantastic! The battery life is also brilliant which is a huge plus for me! I also think a touch screen on the wrist is stupid so the buttons are again a huge plus! Overall I can't recommend it enough! It's a joy to use and I love it!!

Had my Pebble Classic since Black Friday. Find it handy to glance at screen to read a text or other message, get calendar notifications on my wrist and see and control what I'm listening to on my phone. Notifications are doubly handy if my phone is elsewhere in the house charging. Someone even commented to me recently that the watch looked nice so not everyone thinks it's ugly.
I've had mine for over a year now, great watch, looks much better than their new watches as well.

Hmm, Do I really need this? I hardly wear a watch at work as It would get damaged however I do like the thought of reading texts, I'm holding back I think as it would cost me another 20 odd quid for a metal strap and then a screen face protector.
I personally like the idea of the ipod nano watch that apple brought out years ago, getting a new one of them would be hard now though

Take a look at Vector Watch 30 day battery life. Not quite so clever as other watches but gives you the essential info from notifications. Mine lasts more than 30 days compared to my friends Apple Watch which is a daily charge. Different products I know but the Vector Watch is a really nice watch.

Do you never take your watch off?! Surely leaving it to charge overnight for one night a week is not really a big deal.
Great price. I got one of these around a year ago from Pebble direct for £107.
Wear mine daily - great watch, apart from the issue where it sometimes remains on "connecting" forever when trying to sync to my mobile (caused by a Pebble firmware update in Dec 2013 that broke this and they've yet to fix it)

A watch with a battery life of 7 days... are we sure tech is moving forwards??
michelangelo88 to squiby
25 Dec 15#49
7 days is a lot. Most smartwatches can’t even pull off 24 hours properly.
To get more battery life, you need a bigger battery. To get a bigger battery, you need more space, something just not possible for a watch.
Unless there is significant innovation in the commercial battery arena, Li-Ion batteries are here to stay.

Annoyingly we're back to the early days of the PC and the smart phone where better tech exists but by playing all their cards at once they close the door to upgrade sales further down the line. Eventually we'll see solar assist, batteries built into straps, kinetic generators and more. If we all ignored those old mobile phone bricks we'd still be tethered to landlines.Smart watch sales will boost research into batteries and we'll all benefit in the end.

pixelat0r to vtec
24 Dec 151#36
The Sony is great but the GPS is a battery hog and not very accurate. If you want a simple watch with great notifications and a 4 day+ battery life get the Pebble (now getting the Pebble Time OS upgrade too). If you don't mind charging or prefer a colour screen get the Sony IMHO. Neither lets you change for a standard strap and neither has a heart rate monitor if that matters.
DonkeyKonk to vtec
24 Dec 151#42
I dabbled with both a few months ago, kept the Sony, returned the Pebble, mind you this was before the software update.
I think the Sony SW3 is the best introduction to smartwatchedes about as has a lot of stand alone features (and in general this is how I use it, as a music player and silent alarm, and its not something I use everyday, even now months later I use it more as an interesting gadget than an required tool, but its been fun).
The pebble is more for folk who definitely know what they want in a smartwatch, and one they will use daily.

24 Dec 15#32
For anyone sitting on the fence, I have to give kudos to Pebble as they've just updated their software to version 3 for the Pebble classic and steel a few days ago. This brings the newer Timeline interface, which is a main selling point on the newer Pebble Time, to the older monochrome watches. The UI is much better too.
I bought my classic in the Black Friday sales. I was a bit meh about the version 2 software as it felt a bit dated, though it did notifications really well along with 7 days battery life. However the new software has really made it into better bargain than I hoped for as it now interfaces with more apps to give notifications, and generally the Pebble Time app store is better than the normal Pebble one.

The first gen Pebble (this deal) doesn't have that many functions, so there isn't much if anything that you can't do with an iPhone.
The second gen Pebbles (Time) have some extra features that only work on Android, or certain US carrier (AT&T) but the really fundamental useful stuff all works.
For me, the Pebble is the only Smartwatch that I would bother with. All the others seem to be a bit gimmicky.

This one is bit safer choice as you can rely on warranty from Currys. Expect more fantastic price drops soon thought
You can get white only from richardtracybrand.com for $18 including delivery. They do the shank strap which was previously also available in black as well but they've sold out and won't be restocking (I emailed to check). HTH
On my iPhone all notifications are shown( a bit of a pain as I don't want to know that this app has been updated, or latest news from BBC News..)
have a look in settings on your android phone
I'm having trouble setting my Pebble steel up
I have it connected to my Galaxy Note 4, all the software on the Note and Pebble are updated and current.
However I can receive text messages to my pebble and upload watch faces, but I cannot get Gmail nor whatsapp messages to show on my pebble.
I've been in all the settings and "enabled" Gmail and Whatsapp for notifications but nothing seems to be coming through.
Also read numerous guides but still no luck.
Anyone any ideas?
Loving mine so far...
Opened a ticket with pebble support, not heard back yet.
Want a SS strap now, anyone point me in the direction of a good deal?

Thanks
Misfit on Pebble is great as it's self-contained so doesn't need a phone. It gives a graph of the last week's steps etc and daily stats on demand.
Though if I have a mad day with loads of texts etc (so its vibrating and updating the display more often) then I might have to charge it sooner.
Worst I've seen is around 5 days, a one off when I set an alarm (which vibrates) and forgot to cancel it so it repeated the next day etc at that time.
Currently I have a Garmin Vivosmart and the touch screen so annoying me.
I personally like the idea of the ipod nano watch that apple brought out years ago, getting a new one of them would be hard now though

Wear mine daily - great watch, apart from the issue where it sometimes remains on "connecting" forever when trying to sync to my mobile (caused by a Pebble firmware update in Dec 2013 that broke this and they've yet to fix it)
the UI gets even better after upgrading to Pebble time.
love it

Good to see it has also had the latest software update as well.
To get more battery life, you need a bigger battery. To get a bigger battery, you need more space, something just not possible for a watch.
Unless there is significant innovation in the commercial battery arena, Li-Ion batteries are here to stay.
I've had a pebble time for the last 6 months or so and I wouldn't give it up for anything. love the colour screen and how much easier it is to see emails, texts e.t.c...
Controlling the music app on my iPhone with the watch is a godsend
If you're not into wearing skinny jeans, the watch won't be for you.
Well done to the bell ends with snide comments. Next time offers some support and do everyone a favour!
I however, am not ready to jump on this bandwagon just yet. The smartwatch malarkey isn't interesting enough for me yet
Just got a Asus Zenwatch 2 but still keep putting the Pebble on instead. It just works!
At £40 I would have took a punt but at £80 i'm going to wait and see if next years brings better Android Wear devices.
The second gen Pebbles (Time) have some extra features that only work on Android, or certain US carrier (AT&T) but the really fundamental useful stuff all works.
For me, the Pebble is the only Smartwatch that I would bother with. All the others seem to be a bit gimmicky.
There is one on Amazon at £66.50 but not sure if it's the same one. Previous model?
