PC World stating this is web based offer , in store is £599.00.
I think has all functionality like
HD 1366 x 768
2x3.0 usb
i5 -6200 processor
8gb ram
2 tb hdd but no ssd
John Lewis have similar HP for £499.00 but they had it on black Friday at £329 which was out of stock in 5mins.
Is this a good deal?

Omg, it even supports 5gz/Ac? No way! I'm sure a £10 adapter can't do that

not sure why it's going cold. Am i missing something? For the price and availability it's a good option. plus now since HP don't whitelist wifi cards, they can be easily replaced to the latest ones.
Heat from me! although doubt it go hot at all

Decent price for this spec, voted hot. Shame not full HD but £399 for an I5 you can't go wrong.

Also worth adding there are other colours available for this price.

Some are probably voting cold because it's HP I've got an HP i5 probook and pretty much from new if it's not sitting on a cooling fan tray it overheats & shuts down regularly probably doesn't help with the Radeon video chip. It's a bit of a thing HP are renowned for.
Tbh I'll only ever buy used Thinkpads now because of the quality of them being >£800

The standard sales technique is common across all retail sectors. Buy shoes they offer you scotch guard spray or whatever. Alot of these guys are on commish and much of their bonus is made on thisbkind of thing. Ppl gotta earn a living and you have no obligation to purchase.

in this day and age a better screen and a ssd is a must

Although these hp laptops are great and great value for money, they are not high-end laptops
If you need a power house laptop, look elsewhere and you will see the price difference. A high end laptop will not have a 'U' series cpu, and if you need an ssd or full hd screen, the price rockets.
This is indeed hot for what you get

This seems to be a good deal.
I have a similar spec laptop and its fine (mine also has a touchscreen which is useful). I wish could have found a good deal on a smaller screen (purchased over a year ago) but mine connects up to my 23" monitor and displays @ full hd when doing so.
It's great to have a high spec laptop but be honest with yourself do you need the extra power / screen resolution?

I'm torn between this and the lenovo z51 from John Lewis. 100 more, but from what I can see is a far better spec. do you think the lenovo is worth the extra money,?

Hi All
Thanks for good advice but I have just realised that JL have a similar spec laptop at standard price of £379.00 so seems to me PC world may be ripping us off by claiming is £200off on SALE.

Considering that the i7 version is not on sale for for £550, I would question if this was ever really worth £599, more of a sales ploy. I'd say at £399 this is just the normal price.
