Am i the only one that doesn't have an issue with uPlay?

Nothing wrong with Uplay and Origin. We need some competition for Steam.
This game is suffering from Unity fallout. I rather enjoyed Unity, played it once it was patched.
Just started this one and enjoying it too. Released on a much better state.

No. I've never had any issues with it, and I've been using uPlay since uPlay became a thing.

Nope - no problem for me either.
You can also add the exe to non-steam games and use the Steam overlay if you would like to

Doesn't look like it, I always wonder the same thing when people keep bringing it up..
Liking the game so far, spent ages last night just riding up and down the thames robbing boats. Have only seen one bug so far in 10hrs of playing where someone materialised through a wardrobe, unless she was in there having some slap and tickle with the lord of the manor.:man:

I don't think a single solution like Steam is the answer. I'm kind of glad Ubi and EA have kept their own solutions. We need some competition. Ubi and EA often have some great prices. Outside of Steam sales, they are usually way too expensive.
I still think Steam works best and Steam Streaming is very clever, albeit not the finished article.

I see what you're saying. I'm not sure why uplay even exists in the first place as the games are sold on steam. Unless ubisoft plan to leave steam at some point.
I can see the point of Origin as EA don't sell their games on steam. But I have seen, and firmly believe, that if you don't sell your games on steam it loses sales on PC. But EA are a unique company in terms of ignorance and greed so I'm sure that's the reason they chose not to use steam any more. The ignorant part is they could possibly make up that percentage through the extra sales and be no worse of.

You're missing the point. If I'm using my PC, not streaming, I have no need for Steam. When streaming I have to use Steam. That's when using the Uplay and Origin launchers work better than adding the actual non-steam game to my Steam list of games. If you have another solution, do tell.

OH RIGHT I GET IT NOW!!! Ok I'm stupid lol. I thought you needed it on steam to get achievements and all the stuff that u get with a game on steam, trading cards etc. But these games don't have any of these things in the first place which means you can just add the game to steam.

I was following the instructions they sent and never thought about it. I have done rainbow six siege the same way too. I got it free with a laptop.

How's it as a PC port? Unity was kind of a mess. Black flag was pretty good though.
Also uplay can go die in a fire, I don't mind competition but right now it's basically where steam was 10 years ago. Ubi and EA Origin need to provide actual competition rather than just inconveniently silo-ing their games.

It works no different with or without steam, it's in your head because you've decided you don't like Uplay & therefore if you use through Steam magical pixies make it better. You can use your xbox controller normal with it.

I'm finding that adding the Uplay and Origin launchers is the best way to start games through Steam - less buggy for me but appreciate a couple of extra clicks. It works even better with a Steam Link because it puts my Xbox 360 controller is mouse mode when using both Uplay and Origin.

Are you saying you prefer it when there are two lots of DRM in the way of your game rather than one?

One pc + 2 kids + Uplay = 2x copies of the same game and 2x Uplay accounts, even if they play at different times. Come on Ubisoft it's nearly space year 2016!

Regardless they will want to sell more games despite how advanced technology is so it would not financially benefit Ubisoft from a business point of view should they make this possible.

sure. who would want to be the wealthiest privately owned tech company making 100s of millions a year without needing to release a game. the biggest pc game distributer ever, no board of directord to answer to, just choosing any random crazy tech they fancy to research, whenever they want, for fun. who would want that. yuck.

Agreed, I had a few issues with Unity to start with, but the patch sorted all of that out.
Syndicate is playable maxed out with no issues, and I'm finding it a lot more fun that Unity. Some missions are annoying, but they are massively outweighed by the proper assassin sneaking around playing as the girl.

He is always trying to cause trouble. By far and away Steam is the most robust and reliable major gaming network out there. Nothing comes close to competing with it properly, not even Xbox Live.

My main problem with uplay is that it doesn't autodownload updates for installed games like steam, psn and origin do. Other than that, it is improving.
If it manages to survive the division launch next march without crashing then it should be OK. I don't think the overall quality of many Ubi PC ports in the last few years has helped Uplay's cause much tbh.

It wasn't "meant to compete with Steam" it's just another lockdown-to-publisher kind of deal. I don't imagine anything would wish to be like Steam.
