Fill the stocking with crumpled paper, but only one of the pieces has the code on it. Ta da, full stocking for one download

why not print and make your own xmas card with a printed code inside it for each game !! would make for a nice stocking filling

Might be worth looking into the microtransaction controversy before supporting these developers.
Otherwise a good price.

At these prices for a newbie , I'm not sure it is such a big deal , I bought the game a couple of weeks ago , great fun .

Agreed, I won't be playing it long or buying anything extra so £4 for a couple of weeks enjoyment is a bargain.
When it comes to microtransactions just vote with your wallet and don't bite, if people didn't buy they wouldn't be selling.

Absolutely amazing game that is gradually dying. The publishers and developers have made some very bad decisions lately and are not apologising / turning them back.
If you want a game to play for a long time, I don't recommend this anymore even though it was one of my favourites. I have a lot of hours and a lot of the DLC but I can't deal with their lies now

Didn't they apologise recently, recorded a sit down interview with the forum admins and promise to sort it out? I hope they do as they did f*ck up recently which is a shame as I have really enjoyed this game and the previous DLC.

But think of the hilarity when it turns out every crumpled paper is empty, and you've actually printed the code on a Xmas card :stuck_out_tongue:

They do not want to get rid of microtransactions but their last apology was a sort of **** take "sorry that some of the users don't like us trying to make more money"
I saw they had a thing with the forum admins in private. We'll see if they change their ways but the amount of bs they produce about new updates and content (which gets delayed, aka safehouse customisation that has been promised since the start of the game) makes me very doubtful.
They don't seem to understand their most loyal player base (who have now been put off and replaced with a lot of microtransactions kiddies.

Not sure the problem with the developers but for the last 30 days there have been an average of 11,190 players so doesn't seem like it is dying much!

Probably new people. If you're going to play it for a week or whatever, then it's worth £4, just don't bother getting the DLC.
This review sums up what has happened to the game, if anyone wants to investigate before they buy.
Saying that, its only £4. Shame a lot of people have invested a lot of money into this (there's almost £100 of DLC lol)

I guess those folks that have just bought in at a much reduced cost to the original price , will kind of just live with it , when I played it last week , I hosted a few games , loads of players jumping in on the action , is was a real Blast ! excellent value for money....

I agree, it is probably a blast for new players as the concept is brilliant and there is a lot of content. They had the right idea releasing decent DLCs every so often but the community has been split with the recent events.
For £4 it's a great little time waster, but it used to be a game you could really sink your teeth into and play for a long time! I hope they restore some faith for the long term players, I'd actually buy future DLC if they do.

I bought it for just over seven pounds a couple of weeks ago with the DLC , one thing that is really great about this game is that people who have not even bought the DLC can jump in on peoples games who have the bought the DLC and play with them! , talk about very fair minded of the game DEVS.
ATCQ
10 Dec 15#25
That's a nice feature of the (heist) DLCs, but there are still a lot of character/weapon DLCs that make the game complete. When you start playing at the higher difficulties (which everybody ends up doing eventually when you're used to the game), the need for those DLCs becomes more apparent.
I would definitely not call the devs "fair-minded", the steam review I posted summarizes why. I'm very impressed you got all the DLC for £7 though, that seems impossible to me!

Thanks for the info. The fact you can do that made me buy it- for 4 quid it is a bargain.

Hi , the offer was black Friday steam sale , I think it came with Most of the DLC , just the latest 2 it did not come with .....the offer was either the game with no DLC for around 3.75 or with DLC for around 7.75 ! I believe it was considered as GOTY edition with the DLC
Just Wondering
10 Dec 15#29
Just in case you was in any doubt that I have actually purchased the game with the DLC GOTY edition.....please see the picture , of course I could of gone to a load of time and trouble and photoshopped it .... I am sorry that the Payday 2 team have unfortunately made you skeptical , but I hope my post helps you to regain some trust in humanity and been true to their word..
I'm glad you got a good deal and I hope you get as much enjoyment as I did with the game. Unfortunately it would take a lot of changes in the dev teams attitude for me and a lot of the old community to come back.
Grab some friends and get them to play with you and you'll have a blast  I may come back to it one day in the future, maybe if they release the safehouse customization lol.

I'm about 200 hours into it and quit cold turky after they introduced micro transactions in the game. I refuse to play that way.

200 hours , how much you spent on the game ? , if you spent say £100.00 on the game....which is a tad extreme , then its cost 50p a hour....not bad value !
vegalz0r
10 Dec 15#34
You guys are not getting it. They said they would NEVER put micro transactions and then they did.
I don't care if it's 0.00001p per hour or £999942984294 per hour.
Developers should NEVER lie to their consumers.
Just Wondering
10 Dec 15#35
Well , sadly , it happens , it might be a case of Micro transaction or they run out of cash , servers grind to a halt , no more playing.....I appreciate your stance , but sadly lots of companies do it...boycotting the game will not really help....after all they already have your money ! I think you might find that most people do "Get It" but when they bought in for less than a tenner , then they kinda don't care...
vegalz0r
10 Dec 15#36
You will care when you spend £4 and you run into missions that are impossible with vanilla weapons. Then you see noobs with £50 guns running around one shotting everything and finishing the map. You can play but you are never equal in the game.
That's what gets me mad. If we both spend the same amount on the base game, the paid DLCs add huge shifts in your gameplay performance with each £ you spend on micro transactions.
Just Wondering

I will not be dropping 50 pounds on a gun in this game ,but I am enjoying the game
