Good breadmaker. Voted cold as it's Amazon Prime only.

I used a no name one that cost a third of the list price of this for 3 years before buying this and that's still working.
This is lauded as a premium product and owners often report it works for many years, this just exceeded the EU warranty period and died. Looking at the low reviews on Amazon suggests that the fault in mine isn't unknown to Panasonic even when the units are new.

Mine's died after 2.5 years.
Used 3-4 times a week and when it worked it was great. Some sensor has obviously broken and it looks like it's not an economic repair. Makes me hesitate to get another.

Seriously? You've used it close to 500 times, surely at this point is has paid for itself?

Shame I don't have Prime as I would like this however £79 for Prime isn't a good deal for me

Good deal for prime users, but increasingly i am noticing items that are listed for prime users only (such as the tefal actifry in grey). It seems amazon are being a bit harsh on loyal long standing customers, who don't use prime. It seems if you slip them £79 you get to see the nicer items in the backroom :smirk:
That aside good find

You can buy cheaper bread maker machines but I don't know if they are any good. I bought this one and it has never produced a bad loaf.

Mine did once. I'd forgotten to put the mixing paddle in and so it didn't mix the ingredients and I got a soggy mess. Entirely my own fault.

Panasonic are acknowledged as the VERY BEST breadmakers - if you didn't know before you bought you got lucky!

Panasonic breadmakers are just the best full stop. I have had one (SD255) for 8 years and still going strong! I really shouldn't come on HUKD!!!!

As long as you use decent flour these are brilliant. Tempted to buy a spare ;o)

Totally agree I used Marriage's Manitoba Flour (Extra Strong Canadian, you can get a bit bag from Costco) and it made the fluffiest loafs sadly we had to get rid of it.
However this is probably a good thing as it was far too moreish as a previous poster said.

I've got the next model up (the one with the nut dispenser). It makes the nicest homemade bread ever. Really light and tasty and not at all brick-like. Our favourite is the 50/50 Wholemeal/White flour loaf.

Bought that bread maker for £84 and it is worth every penny. It is one of the best on the market I researched it first. This is a great price, you can buy cheaper but they don't compare to Panasonic. Heat added really good deal.

In my experience cheaper bread makers do the job but not quite as well as a Panasonic.. The components and overall design are all just a notch better. Only drawback is that unless you have a house full of hungry mouths to feed, the bread is so moreish it'll make you fat.

I bought one last year in Black Friday sales for Christmas present. It's been great, would buy again.

Fantastic. This can also be nailed to the inside of a cupboard and used as a bin when not used anymore.

Mine has never been inside a cupboard in over 10 years, as used every other day. As previously said, the previous model of this is fantastic ( was a Which Best Buy).
