As a dentist the literature supports oscillating toothbrushes as more efficient in plaque removal vs sonic brushes. Both excellent but on paper oscillating (oral b) are better

Interestingly, research has also shown that power does not equate to cleaning efficacy. I used to manually clean my teeth with great zeal (wrongly) but my teeth feel far cleaner now using the Oral B.

This code still works on the Pro 2000 and is still in stock, awesome deal.

Bought it last year, the battery only lasts 4 to 5 uses of ~4 mins so it's constantly on the charger, comparatively my 6 year old Triumph 9500 (the one it was meant to replace) still lasts 6-8 brushes.

If you've got a weekend trip and only want hand luggage you'll need space for the charger, not heavy, but not worthy of the "Pro" label.

The other brushing modes are a novelty and the BT display is a joke - can you really label something as a "Professional" product and have a large display showing 3 different kinds of smiley faces depending on how long you brush?!?! Good for encouraging a 5 year old to brush but on a "Pro", really...?

Read the Amazon reviews, note how many people complain about the battery life and you'll understand.

The Pro 2000 has a longer battery life and 2 brushing modes (? I really only use the one "clean" mode), use the money you save on stacking up the toothbrush head Subscribe & Save deals that pop up now and then.

From professional experience, the majority of people get much better results with Oral B. If you get on better with Sonicare, that's great, but it's a steeper 'learning curve' to use sonic brushes effectively. As stated above, don't worry about the gimmicks of smiley faces, brushing modes etc., just go for a more basic brush (2000/2500).

In your opinion. But having owned both my personal view is that the Oral B is way less powerful than the Philips Sonicare.

The Oral B is great if you want gimmicks like bluetooth or a small display with a clock and smiley face.

For cleaner teeth my vote is with the Sonicare.

Save your money and invest in the much better Philips Sonicare. I have the Oral B Pro 5000 gathering dust as it's significantly less powerful than my old Sonicare.

Based on its usual price, this is a good price, heat added. However, if you do just a little research you will find that what this offers over the 2000 is deemed superfluous. Personally, I went for the 3000 for £23 and apart from the dire battery technology it is fantastic. I really would be loathed to pay more for a product with such weak battery performance.

2000/2500 also have pressure sensor & timer. 2500 has travel case. Extra cleaning modes on the 6000 aren't really worth it, and you're better off buying more Cross-Action heads than the extra ones they include with the 6000.

Bigger battery, travel case, head holder on the base, Bluetooth, timer, pressure sensors that lights up red when too much pressure and green when time to switch cleaning quadrants. Also comes with 4 heads instead of 1 and has extra cleaning modes.

Good brush but as an owner of one, the bluetooth is a gimmick. I don't even bother with the screen anymore. I've never tried the app as not interested.

It's a good brush, but doesn't do a huge amount more than the 2000. The Pro 2000 for £19.74 is a better deal. Use the savings to buy replacement brush heads.
