It's 12GB for 30 days not for a whole year so it's worst than terrible.
Add the total £10 100GB/month for two months EE SIM into the equation and it becomes less balanced. That EE offer also seems to be edging towards a recurring 6monthly event, which would provide further motivation against committing to a one-off 12m data purchase.

If the quidco cashback pays, it's not quite double the data for the same price but still over 50% more.
At a stretch, you could bridge the gap by using the cashback and and some of the cash price difference between the O2/EE sims to buy an additional 6GB EE sim to make it 18gb vs 24gb over the same term and same price (£60)
If you're willing to sacrifice allowance for convenience, I guess you go from 24gb to 12/18gb for the sake of only registering 1 or 2 sima rather than 4 sims.
That's the only benefit I can see of the O2 deal.

The deal is 12gb over 12 months. I'm a light user and mainly use wifi so this should be fine for me.

Well spotted you are correct and with EE double data speeds it looks a better deal overall on balance. Plus twice as much data also. I guess not many people do the total cost of ownership formula! One of my pals used nearly double that when his home broadband got disconnected, he was on three network eat as much as you like.. if I remember right he started to get throttled and random disconnects but he expected that any way from three. :laughing: I wish they would bring back that tarrif!

wow thats bad, i pay £20 a month for unlimited(should be unlimited) 4G but they capped me this month for using 200GB technical faults apparently yet im annoyed im not getting unlimited and some people are paying upwards of £5 a GB wow!

sorry to be ignorant, but can you explain for me? - does this mean it can just be used when tablet is away from any Wi-Fi, and so it might take my son a year to use up that much data on the train etc.... and after 12 months, unused data is lost? I hear giffgaff gigabag is a fiver per month - how does it compare???
