£117.45 using Amazon currency conversion, might work out cheaper with a no fee card.

Think this really needs to come in under £100 before I consider a purchase. Like the box but not the price.

Why does it? Your expectations are completely unrealistic. This isn't a cheap ass box from a back street Chinese electronics sweat shop but a quality bit of kit!

Thanks, missed out on the black Friday deals as I had ordered the pro 'misprice' Amazon de one.
Works out a £112 on my halifax clarity card.

Have the Amazon.de orders been cancelled? I've already received the remote, have a delivery date for the nvidia shield and they've took payment. Slightly confused now

Also you could return the remote for a 32 euro refund making this less than. £100 all you tight wads.

I've had a look and the amount of games I install that cannot be moved to SD card means that the few games I do play won't fit on to this. would need the 500gb version... that's on offer too but a bit more than what I want to spend... however this deal is super hot... great bit of kit

So using Nationwide cards £25 off this could be under £100, tempted at that

Dispatched by amazon.fr, not amazon.co.uk - so almost certainly not.
Lol, under £100? This is a bloody bargain as it is including the remote. Some people.

Heat added as its a good price inc remote.
After being a shield tablet owner I would tree carefully with nvidia devices.
Have a look on the shield forums before you purchase

Just my personal experience but I ended up sending this back. If you will get good use out of the ability to stream games from your PC then it's probably worth it but overall it's a pretty sub-par machine as far as gaming is concerned and many of the bigger games which were promised months ago have still not arrived on the system.
That would be ok for me if the streaming was up to scratch but I found a couple of issues there which is what led to me returning it. The most annoying one is that when fast forwarding (or rewinding) in Plex it doesn't actively seek the video or skip forward by a set amount - it just keeps playing the video while the timer fast forwards and then when you stop fast forwarding it skips straight to that part of the video - this makes it very difficult to skip credits for example. Additionally, while the remote itself is very stylish the lack of actual fast forward or rewind buttons on it is an annoyance of form over function which exacerbates this problem. This coupled with no Amazon video app (not NVidias fault, the blame lies with Amazon for blocking it on Android TV) made for one too many issues for me so I sent it back and went with a Roku box instead. It's far less stylish but it does everything I need it to with no hassle.

Got many games on the Roku box, what's the game pad like?
The Roku is a media streamer, the Shield a gaming device that streams, stick something on it like Retromania and you have months of great classic gaming right there in a little black box!
Have Now TV, Chromecast, Amazon Fire Stick, New Amazon Fire TV and both the Shield and Shield Pro and they all have their plusses and minuses but your comparing chalk and cheese with a Roku and a Shield.

The controller is normally about 40 quid and the remote is about 20 so essentially you are getting the box for 57 quid, so if you want the box this is a good deal.

Try £50 and £40 respectively. The deal with the free remote even at full price is excellent when you compare it to its nearest competitors.

is there an option to return the controller? or are you talking about selling it on eBay etc?because that's too much hassle and you have to take into account their fees etc..

Bought one from Amazon.de a few days ago with the free Bluetooth remote included for £119.Beats Amazon Fire TV by miles and is aesthetically manufactured.KODI & Netflix runs very smooth.Very happy with the product as it definitely makes my Apple TV and Fire TV bite the dust!

It's shipped as two orders one for remote and one for shield and pad. You can return the remote free of charge and get refunded the amount invoiced which was 32 EUR or something. If your only looking to stream games then no need for remote. Different if you need a kodi box also.

Hence why I started my post with comments about it's gaming potential which in my opinion is sub-par. Your use-case is quite specific; if retro gaming is your thing then sure it sounds great for that. As I mentioned the streaming from PC is also a worthwhile feature for people who have the hardware for that.
Most people don't have a bunch of different devices. They want one or two which do everything they need. Personally I prefer the Roku + dedicated console option for the best of both gaming and streaming. I was hoping the Shield could cover both but, for me at least, it can't.

Believe me, retro gaming on the Shield isn't quite specific to me, loads are doing it. Also you don't need a PC to enjoy PC streaming, if your internet is fast enough then there's the Nvidias streaming gaming service which works out far cheaper than buying and maintaining a gaming PC.
Not quite sure what you found sub par about the likes of Half-life, Doom etc either, yeah not current AAA titles but play incredibly well and look great on the device.
