Well, received an email from amazon.de telling me they now had more of these in stock so I jumped on the site to have a look and this bundle is now back in stock. Sadly but obviously expected, it was with no repeat mis-pricing this time. (Sorry peeps it's selling for 299 euros now.)

So I requested callback again to call in my "promised" goodwill gesture of 100 euros off and I'm glad to say that they did honour that promise. :smile:
As they had already sent me the Nvidia remote for nothing back in early December, they knocked that price of 41euros off the 299 which left the console and controller priced at a little over 262 euros. Then as promised they reduced that amended price by 100 euros which equalled 162 euros.

So in the end all I had to pay was 162 euros, which converted to exactly £125.29p.
Only 3 quid more than the original price of £122 and considering the current lowest price I can find for this bundle is around £219, I think my waiting 2months for it finally paid off.
Gotta say I'm quite happy with the result of this. :smile:

Thats a bummer, but if it makes it you feel better, I read the failure rate on the 500gb units are high and you never know you may have dodged a bullet, give the Trimmers as a present and buy the 16gb (which no doubt will have the offer repeated soon), I have the 16gb which I am going to expand with a 128gb card, but I still havent figured out what I am going to use the extra memory for as the apps are nowhere near filling the 16gb. the 500gb im going to put roms and emulators on as that is the only use for it I can think off and give to my son. Also the 16gb has a better drive than the 500gb

They said I can keep it but I'd rather have the shield than make £20 from selling it

Arrived today, too, which was a nice surprise. Has quite a bit of heft to it - it's certainly no ordinary android box. Being sent sent the wrong item is certainly a cruel twist to this story.

Well this is pretty effed up.

I just got my parcel and to my disappointment they sent out the wrong item. I got a babybliss trimmer instead.

I'm so annoyed right now. I rung amazon and all they could do is offer a refund since the item isn't in stock.

Receiving the shield on Saturday, also. The remote arrived yesterday - both were dispatched at the same time but sent separately, which seemed a bit odd.

Mine had a delivery date of Saturday 12th and it hasn't been dispatched, I expect Amazon EU sarl to get some stock for Xmas and possibly rerun the same offer. if they don't restock by the 20th i suspect they will simply begin cancelling orders. I have a similar situation on the Samsung 128 gb micro SD cards which are not dispatched until they receive stock from the manufacturer. I remain hopeful as tech products shelf life is about a year which this device is near then end of its cycel and close to renewal
I suspect Nvidia want to get rid of the stock or a stock impairment charge will hit their books, no doubt they will have a newer device in development

Dont count on it. I received my remote also. But the shield would come on 1-2 then 5-6 now its 10-11. I bet they will delay it again. But I hope they will get delivered. I bought it before it was on this site.

I expected mine to get cancelled like most on here. My remote arrived last week and the shield was "expected" to arrive between 30-6th January but got an email a few days ago saying to expect the delivery 12-14th December which seems like they'll actually be honoring it. Fingers crossed

My original order for the bundle shows in my cancelled orders, the remote which I received yesterday shows up as a completed order for euro 0.00.
I've got to re-order on a new link when the shield becomes available then call in the deal that was promised to me by the supervisor, so my orders page is now all up to date and doesn't leave me guessing like some are maybe still experiencing.

My 'free' controller arrived today...I just gotta keep checkin for when amazon.de have more stock of the shield 500gb...

I went through the amazon.de website help/contact us pages and requested callback. Original call was 2days ago, talked to regular operator but insisted to speak to a supervisor as I was getting nowhere. As none were available I was told to call back and I again went through the website to request a callback, spoke to an operator and again requested a supervisor and was told a super would call me back within 2hrs. I waited just over 2hrs for that call...

Well he was quoting their 'mispricing before despatch' policies to me at the start of the call.But to be honest I think he had this limit he was willing to go to if I pushed hard enough.
Because he pretty much caved in when I explained that this was supposed to be a gift for my son and i was really pleased to find what i believed to be a genuine black Friday offer. I told him that i was dissapointed when my order was cancelled as i couldn't afford to pay the regular prices for these items and my son would be totally devastated and i suggested that maybe i should hand the phone to him and he can tell my son that he won't be getting his dream present.
I'm not proud of myself but big companies can afford to dish out goodwill gestures now and again and it's about time I managed to get one.

I just called them and a guy picked up the call. I insist for them to honour the original price and they refused. Only offered a 5 euro promotional discount ...bad luck I guess. What did you say to them?

I've just got off the phone with them and I spoke to a lovely little lady called Natasha who wasn't quite ready for this determined and insistent scouser who is not happy that the original listed price isn't being honoured and to cut a long story short, I have to contact them tomorrow to speak to a supervisor about this.
I'm going down the ' I don't mind waiting until it's in stock as long as the original offer is honoured' route, so i'll let you know how I get on.

I somehow managed to change the language for Amazon.de to English from the contact us page I think it was. So everything including communication will now be in English for me. This should help us understand what they are saying better without having to translate .

I spoke to a supervisor today over the phone and got a result so when it comes in stock they will honour the price of 159 euros and wave the shipping fee. Just waiting for stock now. Thanks again OP for posting.

I got both emails, about the delivery time and about the cancellation. Messaged their support. If they just cancel I loose about £30 just because of this misprice they made, I missed the UK deal of the 16gig version.

Wish I had not seen this thread, ordered the amazon uk lightening deal for the 16gb one, never thought I would feel so conned on what should have been a good deal but now feel like I have over paid for an inferior product, damn HUKD.

It was obvious this was a misprice. I ordered it too hoping it would go through, but Im not going to b*tch about or make a fuss about making complaints knowing it was an obvious misprice.

​My orders been cancelled too but I think you'll probably get the shield as well as the remote. It's happened before on items from Amazon where certain people get the items delivered whilst others have theirs cancelled due to a "mis-price".
I'm sure they would have cancelled your whole order like they have done with others rather than cancelling just one item

Ordered around 2 am.Mine still in their order with remote arriving on Tuesday and shield in not yet dispatched state. The pricing is still same on my order. Fingers crossed. If they only send me remote then i will go through credit card protection right and will let them settle the matter

That's a generic reponse. I asked over the phone for a similar solution and the Amazon DE told me that they will not do that. The box will not be in stock for some time and the item was a misprice anyway so they will not issue a credit for a future order. The only solution offered was to ship the remote to me at the advertised remote price.

I then received a follow up email confirming the same.

Sorry went to get link and it had disappeared , the 16gb and 500 gb were the same price next to each other when I first looked .

Nvidia store have this at £119 , today only . Not a misprice

No doubt the German buyers will be better at kicking up a fuss then us. They have some pretty tight consumer laws over there too, more in line with tougher EU regs.

They've proven they're willing to lie or mislead to not fulfil the order (claiming it was out of stock before changing their story on the backlash), could be a case for a German buyer.

Don't be. I was told in no uncertain terms that they will honour only the bluetooth remote order but the box will not be shipped. The remote would be invoiced standalone at the current catalogue price which is €54.99

If i were you i would cancel the remote before it dispatches or you'll have unnecessary hassle returning the remote for a refund and will lose a little bit money on the gbp to EURO back to gbp conversions for the refund process. (its the reason i never place mispriced orders in different currency due to likely refunds, i once lost €30 on a mispriced monitor from the UK when refunded!)

pretty sure id be able to quite easily argue my case for a refund for the remote there and they will surely understand. anyway, i'm optimistic for now at least :smiley:

Careful, they told me they could only ship the remote and would invoice me seperately for it. Some people may end up getting charged for the remote alone!

Yeah cancelled. Black Friday has been pretty rubbish.

I say do it as long as it won't cost you anything or very much if you don't win.

Thing is these companies are making millions and I reckon the amount they would lose on honouring something like this is pretty insignificant in the grand scheme of things. Maybe some of the Amazon directors would get less dividends and have to buy smaller yachts.

Ordered one late last night. Bargain Price! Remote has been shipped which looked as if it was part of the deal as a whole, I selected them to be shipped separately so I'm hoping that as part of the deal was shipped they will have to honor the whole deal. I'm skeptical but hopeful!

The delivery time for this deal is next year...and that's not even guaranteed....so I won't be too mad about this.... I'll be more than happy to enjoy the UK lightning deal and have some fun during the holiday period.

£189 for the 500gb version on ebuyer, scan and game. I've ordered both 16gb from amazon and 500gb from ebuyer... I'm going to do a bit more reading on this and then send one back.

My concern is, as said above, that Android typically handles badly and rarely lets you use external storage for important stuff like installing apps.

As you said, it was a mis price, very temporarily. There is still a high chance it won't be honoured or will be substituted. Also not delivering until NYE-Jan even if it does happen. I was gutted the Lightning deal sold out, so its swings and roundabouts.

Yeah, I think I'm mostly angry at myself that I didn't keep on looking for better prices and that what I thought was a really special deal on amazon uk, wasn't all that special afterall compared to this one. I know it's probably a miss price but as far as I'm concerned if they honor it, which all indications are they will, then it's still a valid deal, albeit a short lived one.

The other annoyance is that shield TV 16GB has no upgrade potential, it will always be a 16GB as it lacks the ports to install a HDD later, you can stick usb drives and sd cards on it externally but it will only ever be external storage that Android typically handles badly and rarely lets you use for important stuff like installing apps. :disappointed:

Tempted to go on to Amazon and complain, I doubt they will do a thing but might make me feel a bit better. I know it was still a good deal by Amazon UK standards but why are our deals so much worse than their German site?

i ordered 2 and both remotes have shipped, its going to be pretty awkward if they dont ship the console!

Also had a 10 Euro account specific voucher so cost me £114.62 as I paid in pounds. Had to look for the email containing the voucher as I deleted it - never expected to use it!

don't forget to mention if you flash custom rom, you will loose the own controller support, sadly
but, you are right the shield controller just brilliant

Had one for 5 months now everything can be side loaded ,showbox, xbmc etc plug your headphones into the controller.
Emulators run full speed, external hard support on the usb 3.0 other controllers work if you flash a custom rom although the one that comes with it is brilliant. Regular been updated since I purchased it from America. everthing just works like it should.

bit confused?? You have already explained about adding KODI (whichever way the user chooses) then add your fav addons and you are good to go for almost anything. been a few IPTV that have been working well, but for how long, who knows.

Looking into seems like something that can be useful if I manage to figure out how to do what I want to do with it which is mainly stream HD football and movies etc

Also would I need to fork out any more cash or is it all just downloadble etc from now on?

Bought this...wasn't even looking to buy for another couple of months, too good to miss.

Install Kodi and with navi and genesis you're probably covered, for live tv ruya is the way to go... the channels are by no means official but I often find plenty of HD streams for big footie games..

It's a very beefy android TV device so if you do some research then it's really capable of a lot of things...

P.S £117 if your card doesn't charge foreign fees (Thats £7 more than the price i paid earlier today for the 16GB version) This is so crazy!

I was just about to buy the 16gb one from Scan but I went for this because its such a good deal. Hope they honour it.

Dont know if anyone has noticed on the link it takes you to the Nvidia Pro at 159 euros but once you pay and go into orders and click on the link in the order it takes you to the one for 299 euros and says you bought this product 27th november and then underneath a newer version is available for 159. Maybe this is the reason for the date being end of dec as that could be the new year sale price?? if it is then could be an error?
