This is a great price for this, is on offer for £4 in some supermarkets so this is a penny cheaper ;-)

Yes, it's a dilemma; Nutella slathered on hot, buttered crumpets or listening to whiney, busybodies who can't tell a mouth orgasm from a mung bean. If sugar was bad for you they'd put a tax on it! Oh wait...

Not as high as most jams. Everything unhealthy that appears gets the same nonsense comments. These people obviously have never heard of a balanced diet and live on quinoa and chia seeds. Reality is they probably have no self control and are down't Gregg's every lunch time.
Vanderlust
11 Dec 152#44
Yeah down at Gregg's. Or buying 1KG jars of Nutella.
Where did you hear that a balanced diet meant buying food that that was 55% sugar and 30% fat.
Fructose is addictive and changes your brain chemistry. It's laced in everything we eat already, so intentionally buying something like Nutella is reckless. Fine if it's for yourself and you pay your own health bills. But if you use the NHS and are eating too much sugar and fats, or are feeding this junk to your kids, you're a blight on the country. The people in the UK who consume too much sugar and fat yet are completely healthy due to regular cardio are a small minority.
Ask all the pro-nutella posters to post images of their waistlines and you'll see what I'm talking about.
And no I won't take it for granted that you're some super fit Adonis just because you say so.

What a load of sanctimonious nonsense from someone who's last deal posting was for Dominos pizza...
Did I say I was a superfit adonis? Did I say my balanced died consisted entirely of 50% sugar and 30% fat? It's not like I take Nutella on everything, just like it would be reasonable to assume you don't eat Dominos at every meal time.
Common sense now passes for sanctimony? Dominos is terrible, and I shouldn't have posted that deal that one time. I'd never defend it though. It's intellectually dishonest.
I still wouldn't eat chocolate for breakfast. Which is what Nutella is and is used for. It's stupid.
Vanderlust
11 Dec 151#49
Terrible comparison. Nutella also has 30% fat. Jam doesn't.
Jam is a terrible spread, Nutella takes it too a whole new level.

11 Dec 15#50
Sweets should be taxed, obesity is over the moon in UK
But maybe we should listen to the 'Nutella as part of a healthy balanced diet' HUKD'ers instead.
Far too much junk on this site. I'm guilty as well of posting that Dominos deal one time. But I'd never stoop so low as to tell people that's it's alright, let alone turn in to some sugar fuelled defender of the junk food industry.
For the sake of your kids, if you have any decency at all. Just watch it.

Its an Italian product & they Italians have one of the lowest obesity problems in Europe.
Its not Nutella making brits fat. Its the fast food beer drinking couch potato poor diet living.

It's the deal that's posted. The price/value in exchange for what is on offer.
It could be fat/sugar free or 100% lard, irrelevant. We're here to see if it's a Hot UK Deal.
All about moderation / common sense with treat based food items such as this. No need to be so scared of life as it has a high sugar content.
