Now TV box - New black version with choice of 3 month entertainment or 2 month movies subscription only £15 in store at Asda Winsford. Scanned as £15 too so not a mix up with the old boxes.
£19 for the box with a 6 months entertainment pass in tesco.
Also the box and 3 months entertainment is £15.

Would have bought one but the £25 min spend put me off, should really be noted in the description. There is no way to reserve and collect as this is from groceries rather than Direct.

Agree. Bit ridiculous that you can't reserve and collect. How much does that cost them?

Can you not just tie a piece of string to the end on the power lead, pull it through then tie the new power lead to the string and pull it back to where it needs to be?
mrew42
26 Nov 15#48
The power lead? I don't know about you by Mrs would kill me if I left cables traipsed across the wall/floor/tv.

I saw this in Rawtenstall asda yesterday, figured the new boxes were just in the place of the old ones and would scan at new price

We saw this at the weekend at our local Asda. Sel said £15, but they scanned at £25. So we got them reduced.
It's based on the roku 3 (I have one of those too and paid nearly £100), amazing value overall

If you have a movies pass, can you watch the movies in the sky store section? I just bought one & had a look, when I selected a movie it looked like I was to pay to watch it. TIA.

Righto, here's a super lazy question. Does the PSU from the old one work on the new?
I spent ages threading the b*gger from the old one through to where it is now and don't want to have do that again :sunglasses:

No, tried that myself just because I was two lazy to get it out the box, from what I can remember the plug size into the actual unit is different - no consolation to you I know but the old remote works though.

Bought 3 of these in currys last weekend and the manager gave us 3 for £30. We told him we had come all the way to buy one as we thought they were 9.99 and he said that that was the old ones, so I did a disappointed face and he ended up letting us have 3 at the above price. This was in Aintree by the way.

Currys are doing the now TV boxes for 12.99 not sure if it's the latest box but I did buy one the other day. Choice of movies or entertainment pass
Free HDMI and 2 AA batteries in each one. Bought 2 for £10 2 months ago and will save one entertainment pass for next April when Game of Thrones starts.

You can stream in 1080p, its more responsive, and it has ethernet - wired network connection (far better than wifi for most)
