The description on their site is misleading, as it describes the newer model. Worth noting that this is the old model.

I know! Hopefully they have a lot of stock, looks like they are trying to clear the last of the older 3ds.

quite pricey considering its the older 3ds xl but hey free game so that's £20 you wont have to spend and although its pre installed so you cant sell it on.

its not that pricey for these older ones, considering the orignal first models are similar price and the new 3ds versions cant be found anywhere yet under £125

Answer 1) It's called Nintendo greed - they want to add more expense in the hope you will buy their official one.
Answer 2) They're around a fiver or less usually. You can pick one up in Game - they're always coming up on offer all over the place.

Their reasoning "most people will have one from owning a 3DS" was embarrassing.

dsi chargers are the same so a lot of people who are into ninty handhelds will probably have one was the thinking. Its not a con. No backwards compatibility between previous gen consoles? now that's a con. Good old ninty.

I paid less than that i think ages ago for my "new" 3ds. They have been cheaper than £125. Although maybe not right now. The step up was worth the extra money.

Not all dsi chargers are the same. The 3ds has a more square ending to the charger connection and the ds has a rectangular one. Had to buy one for the 3ds but picked one up with a dual connection-always handy in case the older one goes missing.

the charger has been the same charger since the dsi. Nintendo reduced the rrp on the charger when the announced that xls wouldn't include one.

Will this play ps4 games? Is it backward compatible with N64 carts?

all old (brand new) 3ds XL come with firmware under 9.2 so its good to do all the good stuff.
worth buying ahead of the "new" 3ds because of that alone.
