Most "locked" phones will lock to the Network of the first sim installed. This way manufacturers can provide the same "locked" devices to all Network Providers. If you can buy the phone from EE without them installing the PAYG sim then you should be able to use any Network sim.

Even in the camera, from my experience, the Nexus 6P does a lot better in low light especially with that amazing HDR+ mode!

I spoke to ee this morning and the phone is locked to ee. You need an ee sim too, won't work with a BT mobile sim.

Yes I've has both and opted for the g4, vanilla Android is nice but gets boring after a while (well it did for me) and the battery is rubbish for a 3450mah and vanilla Android, you would expect it to be insane at that size!

Got the Amazon France deal. Does anyone know how to turn off haptic feedback completely? I can only find the setting to disable it for the keyboard.

I personally couldn't see how the 64gb 6p was worth £220 more than than G4 with a 64gb micro sd card.

Only thing it has over the g4 is finger print scanner, Front facing speakers, little larger amoled screen (but lower ppi) and vanilla Android. Worth the extra? Not for me.

You need Nova Launcher so you can hide the notification bar, then you get Piptec Wallpaper and widget pack and I decided to use a different Fallout live wallpaper from the one in the piptec pack. It looks 10x better with Twilight switched off. I'll take a snapshot and make a smaller pic!

I own an S6 and will have waited 5 or 6 months after Nexus devices have Marshmallow released on them. The Samsung/EE carrier experience on my phone is truly shocking, it makes exceptionally good hardware appear to be average or below average. I used to own a Nexus 4, I do it's still in the house somewhere. However I decided to get an S6 to experience the flagship experience, well it's crap I can tell you that, dreadul OS which is Lollipop, I swear Google told all their employees to go out and spend all their profits to get hooked on crack, Lollipop is a dire mobile OS, truly dreadful. I can't wait for Marshmallow which might turn my S6's performance on. I will definitely root and custom ROM the phone too, which makes me think, if only I'd waited for the Nexus 6P, I still would have gone the custom ROM root, as the custom ROM I had on the N4 was excellent. Anyway I'd waited for 2 years to replace the N4.

Anyway here's my S6 homescreen, just to show you what can be easily achieved even with a non stock, non rooted S6 (excuse the pink tinge on the display, this due to me running Twilight which takes the blue light out of the screen at night time, for want of a better description) >

Thanks for the comments, I have always wanted to experience a Nexus phone for the stock Android experience. I've previously owned a Galaxy S3 and wasn't impressed by the sub-par battery life and lagginess of the UI (although I've heard the UI has been made much lighter with the latest iteration of Touchwiz). Still, getting updates first would be awesome!

The biggest thing holding me back from getting this is the form factor. Honestly as much as I loved my Oneplus One, using it one handed was sometimes a little cumbersome. I feel as though a phone in the range of 4.8-5.2" display might be the best for my needs. It might be okay though, certainly proves for a more immersive experience. I think I'll pop along to an EE shop tomorrow and ask to try it out first, give it a good bit of usage before making a final decision.

People should know that Huawei are a terrible make, their hardware is really bad might sound like good spec but trust me you will have trouble and their customer service is one of the worst.

I'd highly highly highly recommend this. A lot of my colleagues have S6s and S6 Edges as they were cheap on company scheme.

When they see me on this and compare it to their own they're always astonished by the silky operation and downright speed. Think there's often a bit of regret for them!

Only area the S6 beats it in is camera, but only slightly :smiley:

I have a Three sim, so if that's the case I'll need to get it unlocked, anyone know how that'd work/how much it'd cost? If it's £20+ to unlock the thing, might just be less hassle to get direct from Google for the £450...

People moaning about price.... If you are a proper smart phone user you probably put 3-4 hours a day into the device, if you work off 7 pound an hour you have earned back as much as what it costs in 14 days in the same 3-4 hours you have been using it

I think his point was why the money you get from "a days work" is a unit of measure of the worthyness of a mobile or indeed any purchase.

This device fares rather well price wise when compared to other mobiles of the same specification.

Looks like the phone comes unlocked no ee branding anywhere and also got ee's version of Google cardboard as a free gift !!!!!

I appreciate why some people don't want to spend a lot of money on a smartphone, but it is easy to understand why many do.

Firstly, many people keep a phone today for at least two or three years and if they keep it in good condition they can redeem some of their investment back if they sell it on.

Secondly, smartphones are no longer just for taking calls. They have effectively replaced multiple devices. Cameras ,video photography, MP3 players, eBook readers, satellite navigation, gaming, and much more.

Nice things can cost lots, if it makes you happy who cares how much it costs
