Winter is coming…. and so is next month’s batch of PlayStation Plus games. Are you ready to delve into epic battles against the forces of darkness, or maybe you’d rather play it a little safer with a light-hearted adventure? Well, you’re in luck because we have both bases covered – with PlayStation Plus, you can fight over dragons and kings this holiday season, rather than who gave the worst gifts…

Here’s the full list of great titles that await you on 1st December:

Gauntlet: Slayer Edition (PS4)
King’s Question – Chapter 1: A Knight to Remember (PS4)
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon (PS3)
SSX (PS3)
Rocketbirds Harboilded (PS Vita)
Freedom Wars (PS Vita)

I actually had it in a bundle but sold it but i didn't give the game a chance. Also considering i'm forced to pay for PS Plus for multiplayer i want as much value as possible. Don't get me wrong some of these indies are fantastic like Rocket League but stuff like Kung fu rabbit are straight up shovelware. Honestly they should remove the Vita and PS3 offerings and make the subscription cheaper like 20 pounds a year as those offerings are pointless to me as i only own a PS4 so those are artificially increasing the price. Knowing Sony they will remove the Vita and PS3 offerings and still keep the same price.

Doesn't that mean that this is a good month in your opinion, then? :stuck_out_tongue:

It's an excellent month for me. But I was expecting LBP3 (knack wouldn't have cut it) to make new subscribers go "Wow" and hand over their hard earnt cash. Maybe January?

Most of the likely contenders could have been bought for less than a tenner and then sold on for a couple of quid less, if I had known in January Knack (for example) would not have made it by December I might have bought it by now. But surely it's imminent? At least if they gave it away it would give people something else to moan about :stuck_out_tongue:

Theres no excuse why they couldn't have given Killzone SF. It was a PS4 release game and its in the bargain bins and isn't selling anymore. Its actually cheaper now than many of these over priced 8 bit indie platformers they keep flooding on PS Plus.
Illusionary to darkspace100
28 Nov 15 #139
Why do you want it so badly when it's now inexpensive anyway? While not a bad game, many of the recent PS+ inclusions have been significantly better.

In any case, it's not as if Sony actually need an 'excuse' for any of the games that are/aren't included in the IGC.

Doesn't that mean that this is a good month in your opinion, then? :stuck_out_tongue:

Saw a deal on here for "Flame over" on ps4, now sadly expired. That game looked perfect for ps+ (if you don't expect AAA every month)

And as it has been on offer (one of the criteria it seems for being a plus game) for only £4.49, it would hardly break Sony's bank

Truly dire offering for PS4 owners, seems Sony have hired, fired MS xbone launch staff, to run their Ps Plus department. lol

I am joking, before the threats start about who's is bigger, i got a Philips CD-I, so obviously i win the console wars.

Is January likely to be better than December (from past experience?)

I'd have thought they would have made December a superb month to encourage new owners to buy a 12m subscription?

Having said that, am really pleased / excited by Gauntlet being offered. Even bought a 3rd controller especially for couch co-op.

How can anyone defend this pitiful lineup which is like they are spitting in our faces and laughing. Its obvious Sony have become very arrogant and complacent because of the PS4 success. If you people think this is bad just wait until next year when they drop the Vita and PS3 from the lineup as they are already hinting at as they are only advertising with PS Plus you get 24 PS4 games instead of 72 overall games and if you thought this years games were awful just wait until they give you even worse games next year if they are being a grinch by giving us a N64 remake and a demo for Christmas. You just need to look in the PS4 and see which games are shovelware and those will be next years games but for me i'm done with PS Plus and once it expires in January i will never resubscribe and will buy most of my games second hand as those are cheap anyway and Sony don't get my money.

If Sony thinks i'm buying a PS5 when it releases they have another thing coming as buying a PS4 at release was a massive mistake. You people carry on defending this trash company and they will carry on **** in you.

I agree with you and that's why I think the word 'game' isn't really appropriate to describe what these sorts of products have become now. It would be like describing all blu ray films as 'cartoons'.

The likes of CoD, Fallout and Assassin's Creed have no place on the shelf in Toys R Us and they also have legally binding age certificates printed on them but because they're classed as interactive entertainment, they are still considered toys to some degree. They should have at least stuck with the BBFC rating system for games though because PEGI is crap and plain just doesn't make sense.

Reading that back, I probably didn't say what I said as well as I could have. And there is the matter of how exactly we define "Kid". I'm far too lazy to do that though! But, as you say, if kids have no place on an online network such as PSN or XBL, then surely their Hardware and more importantly, their Network service products have no place in Kids' toy shops. Yet they are. Having big fancy displays in such places is most definitely a form of marketing. Do Sony tell their retail partners, this product is probably best enjoyed by a certain age group, or do they tell them to sell as many as they can to whoever they can? Do parents rush home to look at NeoGaf articles to see what the average age of a PSN user is?

Always fun seeing so many people who think they should be getting AAA games every month of the year. No, its a flase sense of entitlement.

You're lucky, all of you. If Sony hadn't started PS+ on PS3 all those years ago, you'd still be paying £30 a year JUST to play online, no games. They even forced Microsoft to do the same, although if you compare the two, very rarely has GWG had better months than PS+. But people still whinge as always.

The fact that the best game to ever launch on PS+ was an indie title by the name of Rocket League says it all about today's society. If its not a game that's had millions of dollars worth of marketing campaign, paid for positive reviews in newspapers or IGN, or they've never heard of it, its automatically terrible and PS+ should now be free.

If online was still free on PSN, then it'd be just as awful as it was on PS3. But no, so many plebs fail to understand the concept of maintenance costs where network infrastructure is concerned. Then there's the fact they upgraded so many components to make it so fast now, added plenty of awesome features like share play, and people expect a company that has awful finances currently to just shell out for it all with no return?
Spark to striker33
26 Nov 15 #129
Sony started PS+ because they needed a way to recuperate investment into PSN and they couldn't suddenly start charging for network access on the PS3 because they had promised they wouldn't and because the quality of the PSN infrastructure was sub-par at best. Because online gaming was free back then, they had to sweeten the deal to earn subscribers so they offered some quite frankly excellent value for money on a monthly basis.

Since 2013 their strategy and pricing model has changed but their network infrastructure hasn't. That's what I really have a problem with. It's not the free games on offer (some are great, others are absolute tosh), it's the regular downtime, the glitches, the appalling customer service and the still highly questionable levels of security.

We got the full season of The Walking Dead Season 2 for PS+ this month yet Sony couldn't give us the full season of King's Question. I know King's Question isn't by Telltale but if you look at Telltale they usually release the first episode for free. Disappointing month for the PS4.

It's good to see the Vita get something decent for a change hopefully more people will play Freedom Wars online. I'm looking forward to trying out Rocket Birds. As for the PS3 SSX is excellent it's not as good as SSX Tricky but it's good to see that game on PS+.

Well said. It's a bargain at that price, and many of those complaining will no doubt have used CDkeys or other retailers to get a further discount. Blood Dragon alone is worth £3.33

This year so far I have downloaded and throughly enjoyed:
Walking Dead season 2
Broken Age
Super Meat Boy
Teslagrad
Grow Home
Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris
Limbo
Rocket League
MGS Ground Zeroes
Never Alone
Valiant Hearts
Odd world
counterspy
Transistor
The Swapper
This does not include infamous First Light or the numerous PS3 and Vita games I've received.

King's Quest is supposed to be alright innit. I don't own a PS3 so another meh month. I'm not complaining however.

not bad for ps3 but my god the ps4 needs better offerings for the christmas month.

That is completely irrelevant, you're on a PS+ thread, you call them all ****, wether you've played them or not

WHAT
Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. SSX. Freedom Wars!!
Hell yeah!

For PS4 I guess il pick up Kings Quest

Not so good this month, compared to the Xbox lineup -.-'

25 Nov 15 1 #10
Freedom wars is meant to be epic, awesome, SSX and Far Cry are worth a look on PS3 too. Can't really comment on the others as I haven't played them yet.

25 Nov 15 2 #8
Freedom Wars and FC3: BD only decent ones on the list. Honestly at this point Sony should just cancel the requirement of PS+ for online gaming and offer good PS+ games again, if they offer proper decent titles like they did with PS3, they'll still have a high PS+ subscriber base.
