Good price for the 8gb/1gb ram version, the 16gb/2gb is £169 on Amazon UK but in another deal on here £135 from Amazon.fr. The extra memory and storage are worth it it imo ...

I was hoping to get the £70 Vodafone deal but was refused in every store I tried so I settled for this one.

It comes up at £104.49 with my Amazon NUS discount.
I'm after a phone as a xmas gift, is this a good deal or has anyone sen better over black friday? What does the LTE mean?
(after a phone similar to xperia z1 - i picked one of these up for £130 earlier this year).

LTE = 4g
This is a very good budget phone and Motorola are good for updates etc unlike some brands. For the money you don't get better plus the build quality, updates etc... You can get some higher spec own brand phones but they aren't in the same league as the Moto G range.

£99.99 + £10 topup = £109.99 including topup. Sorry, What am I missing?

According to 3 they don't sim lock handsets any more - haven't done for the past couple of years iirc.

The three deal allows you to customise your Moto G via 'Moto Maker' (albeit with a black front) once you have received a voucher following payment. This allows you to pick the colour of the rear skin and camera detail, even have a laser etched name up to 14 characters on the back. The Amazon deal is a standard black all over handset. You would have to wait a little longer for the customised phone so depends on how quick you need it but they are the same price when purchased with the minimum £10 to up.

The link takes me to a phone for £132.50 and the one I bought this morning. Is the 3 one able to take an O2 Sim then?

Click '13 used & new' on the right hand side and it is available from Amazon there for £109.99. The 3 one will be unlocked as well as far as I'm aware.

The last time I bought a phone from 3 it wasn't a top up you were forced to buy, it was a SIM card with credit on. Has it changed?
I swapped my OnePlus One for the Moto G and been very happy. Fits in my shorts now and more reliable.

I took the plunge and upgraded from the 1st gen moto G to this last week from Tesco using Clubcard boost.
Slightly disappointed, but the build quality is second to none, it feels like it will last longer than the 1st gen, that's still going strong after 2 yrs.
Camera has gone from 5mp to 13mp on the back but cant realty tell them much of a difference. The front camera is much better though.
Screen ppi should have been updated at the same time as making the screen bigger as it doesn't seem as clear from varying angles.
What happens with motomaker if you ever need to return the phone for a refund? I assume due to distance selling rules they would still need to take it back.

Still so torn on this one, the moto g 3g was amazing value for money but I don't like the two tier pricing for more ram when the smart ultra 6 has more for less £'s.

i have the 2nd generation 4g, how much ram does mine have compared to this one? still 1gb right?
anthonyduffy526
27 Nov 15#22
Does that mean you could potentially buy it for £140 plus the top up if you choose to upgrade the RAM? If so that's at least £30 cheaper than Amazon at the moment.

just save up a bit more and get the x play, It's a good phone but not worth it at this price.. for £70 I would be all over it tho.

Bought one of these a month or so back and have to say that whilst its a great little phone I wish I had gone for the 16gb version. Even with a 32gb sd card in the phone there are a lot of apps that wont install on it and insist going on the internal memory so I am constantly having to balance what I have installed

had motog v1 for 18 months and its brilliant. charge holds for 2 days, seems to be able to multi task and rarely lose 3g connectivity. even recovered from a toilet trip ( I believe newer versions are water proof! )

I was able to get 2 from Fareham store yesterday. I was the first to their store from the looks of it pointing this out. They were in the middle of honoring it that they saw the message in the system that they are not allowed to honor it but they still went ahead with it. As it follows the sales goods act still. They either need to pull off the leaflets or pull off the phones from the shop floor, if they don't do that they're breaking the law.

They cut corners on the quality of the body and the speakers of the device too.

Just bought this phone with Clubcard boost - so free. Would have gone for the 2Gig version but wasn't available.
Love the phone. Very rarely change phones so try and put a lot of thought into the ones I get. It's responsive, intuitive, smooth, nice quality and water resistant. Memory upgrade to 32G with card. Quick wrist action accesses the camera and torch options. Works very well as sat nav too. Should be one of the first to receive Marshmallow too apparently.

Been burned before on a Vodafone update but the reverse was true. Upgraded from Android 2.2 to 4 and it totally destroyed the phone and there was no way back. Trusting Motorola will still be true to their updates as 1st gen has just got 5.1 and that's made it as good as anything before.

Moto G series brought lot of enthusiasm to new android enthusiasts however the price of the 3rd generation at £149 is ridiculous. With its 8GB and 1 GB RAM, its disappointing. It should have been at least 16GB and 2GB RAM for £149 Nothing exciting
