Yep same here. Couldn't order online to pick up in store. Their website was in maintenance around 1am so thought at the time they would be price up and they did.
Just waiting for Vodafone Smart Ultra 6 to come down to £100.

Expired now, left it too late :disappointed:
Was out of stock online yesterday when I tried, said there was stock in my local store to pick up today but went in and price is back up.

Got it via website in the morning. The staff at store told they do not have it. When I told them I did pay via website and booked collection here, they looked and found it.
wanted to ask, how long it takes for unlock code to arrive, does it arrive via email or post?
Thanks

I trekked into the Grimsby Vodafone store yesterday, with a print out of the offer.
I was told no, they would not honour the web price, and were in fact quite rude!

Got one of these for the mrs from Three a couple of weeks ago - £99+ £10 top up and was personalised ("engraved"). Most importantly, it was unlocked already so went straight onto Giff Gaff.
I had purchased an Ultra 6 but there appeared to be far more variance in the reviews of the 6 relative to the Moto G, plus I already have a 2nd gen Moto G which has been flawless, so I stuck with what I know and the 6 remained unopened then was returned.
Camera is much better on this than the 2nd gen and it feels solid and performs well. I'm sure there may be better spec'd alternatives at this price point but I don't see that equating to a lot better value.

Meh you can get much better then 8gb storage and 1gb ram for under £100 and this is from a die hard moto g fan - the third gen seems pretty dissapointing..

Thank you!! I spoke to the manager, and the guy that served you, served me and honoured the £99, he didn't even query when I said I didn't need the sim! Thank you so much for your help! I wouldn't have even have gone back in if I hadn't seen your first post, so thank you! Merry Christmas!! =)

People vote hot on stuff they don't actually buy as they don't need or have already got because they think it's a good price and that's allowed y'know...

Your 'joke' is brilliant - because Scrooge would definitely hate this budget phone, and would feel much happier buying a proper, more expensive one..?!
I'm sure they're not a bad phone (for the money) but every single post for one goes mental, and has done since the beginning of time. It's not like many people would have to save up for years to buy one, so why do they still generate such euphoria even now?
skinflint72
13 Dec 151#53
Yes, this is the 3rd gen. Glos were OK to honour the £99 web price when shown page. I did say I was a business customer so wouldn't need top up (white lie), worked fine. I'll post oic of receipt if it helps.

It doesn't mention 3rd gen anywhere on the site! Is this definitely the 3rd gen?

Stroud branch would not sell at £99 without £10 topup, but Glos branch just did. SIM locked, but under £2 to unlock. Nice deal.

Hey, can I ask who you spoke to and what you asked for? I went into Glos and the woman said I couldn't have it at this price and had to pay £130 for it! Thanks! =)

Waiting for the 16gb/2gb ram version to come down to this price before I upgrade my 1st gen!
The smart ultra 6 is amazing value but it seems to lag quite a bit despite the great specs.

(and this speaking as someone who was a huge Moto G fan when it first arrived on the scene) this phone is not the bargain it once was. Let's be honest, the Gen 1 was clearly being sold at or near cost price by Google (some apparently well informed folk at the time were of the opinion Google did this to warn Samsung of the consequences of them launching their own OS). These specs can be ground into the dust by a budget Chinese phone.

If this is the 8/1gb, it's definitely not worth it.
Personally I wouldn't even bother with a moto G, better alternatives out there at a similar price range.

good deal but not the bargain it once was two year ago the helio x10 phones from xiaomi far better.the blu phone on amazon for 40 quid has the same capability bar the camera.ok its windows but it runs better with snapdragon 410.think id choose the idol 3 over this as it has more ram and fantastic stereo speakers similar to a htc.the lenovo k3 note.the meizu m1 and m2 note all compare well.even the xiaomi mi4 with snapdragon 801 and premium build quality is only 140 from banggood eu with email sign up codes.

Pretty average. Good for teenagers though as it's waterproof.
Upgraded my first gen moto g with a doogee x5 and really pleased with it. dual sim sockets and quickly upgraded to 72GB with a £10 micro sd card. Great quality phone for £30-35.

Got one of these for £70 last week because of the price error in the Vodafone Xmas brochure. (was on hukd a weeks ago).
Good phone for under £100 so it's worth it at this price Imo. However, it does have a few negatives : there is no notification light, only the screen comes on to notify you. There's no gyroscope, so no things Google cardboard. I like to use the phone on a desk with it lying down but because of the curved back it really slides around and rocks.

Only Amazon and Motorola are selling the 16GB/2GB RAM version exclusively.
So we wait with baited breath for a price drop.
