Watch out, this is the 1GB RAM and 8GB ROM version. Not all apps can be moved to SD card and this will fill up very quickly and with only 1GB RAM speed is impacted. £169.99 for 2GB RAM LINK

Seems like these are being discounted to ~£100 everywhere now. I couldn't wait and got mine a few weeks back for £130. Well worth the money, the phone is fab.

It's looking like Dec/Jan for the update but honestly I've had no trouble with my 2nd gen so I'd definitely recommend the new one at this price.
I was lucky enough to pickup the 16gb in a deal posted yesterday :stuck_out_tongue:
It is available on upgrade for £89.99 no top up required.

So the description needs to have a price of "£109.99, including top-up" as it's not available to buy for £99.99...

Nice phone and good price. Shame it doesn't have the 2nd sim from the previous model. That would have been handy. Heat added though.

FYI for the people mentioning about 8gb version being useless - android M will group your internal and external memory together

When is it expected to get the update?
Also, is 1GB really a big issue? I'm thinking of buying this as a gift for someone that doesn't do much multi tasking, non demanding games (just emails...web browsing...camera..)...I would of thought it's absolutely fine but every time these deals pop up I see the usual handful of "avoid! 1gb only! oh my god!"

Thinking of getting either this or Samsung Galaxy A3 from carphonewarehouse on upgrade, Samsung £10 more. Would appreciate advice from all you with experience on these matters, as it would be my first smartphone.

The Galaxy A3 has twice the internal storage of the Moto G but in terms of performance I would say the Moto G is slightly better.
Not much in it to be honest but I wouldn't be prepared to pay £10 more for the Samsung if that's monthly.

This is cold - Better option is to order payg from three as you get moto maker options with purchase

Totally agreed. I've a first gen Moto G, I can bare 1Gb RAM but only 8Gb of flash internal/flash storage is a real problem.
PS Where has the thing of referring to the internal flash storage as ROM come from? I find it so confusing, as ROM always stood for Read Only Memory, which the storage in phones clearly isn't.

8gb internal memory (from personal experience - avoid this at all costs) and 1gb RAM. Better off with the voda smart ultra. Cold.

Looks like its also available as an upgrade for £89 on O2 and Virgin, but good luck trying to get it. Even though I've checked the terms and conditions and meet the criteria never been able to get the deal.
