That's the point. They are all completely different wines surely

In the past I've been sucked in by the cheap CDP deals that always appear before Christmas and have now come to the conclusion that they are mediocre wines that are overpriced even at the offer price. CDP is an enormous wine region containing lots of producers, some great, some good, some mediocre. At this price you're getting the bottom of the market. Maybe there are some exceptions to this, but I've yet to experience any.
That's a completely different wine though. Have you tried both? If so, how to they compare?

I loveva good old paper debate! A good one will be great but expensive. A poor one will be nasty and moderately priced. As has been said. Its just a region. Its like buying tasteless cheddar.
If you can't taste the difference in the wine and only care about the name on the bottle then glug away and live happily in ignorant bliss
Ha makes me sound like a right snob. I just buy cheap wine that tastes OK.

Perhaps OP should have beeb more specific.Morrisons stock more than one 'brand' of CNDP.

I think the problem with cndp is that it's looked on as a brand, unfortunately it's not and is not a consistent product. It so depends on vintage, and more importantly producer. Same can be said about any wine especially one that can trade on its name. -ie Chablis, bordeaux, burgundy, rioja the list can go on.

Had this last weekend. Wasn't particularly impressed - nicer wines out there for less money.

You must have bought the signature CNDP - that one isn't on offer

Unfortunately too much faith is put in a name. This may be good more likely be poor value.

Is it a 2013 by any chance?
Edit: 2014 according to the website. Hopefully better than 2013.

Hardly relevant that you get a 2-3 day double staff discount to the OP??
The way Morrisons are losing money ( almost £800M last year - their share values down over 50% in 2 years ) and closing more and more stores ,enjoy it while you still can. ;-)

Personally I'd much rather spend £6 on this one I posted last week and be £2 per bottle better off...
