In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, gamers take on the role of Talion, a valiant ranger whose family is slain in front of him the night Sauron and his army return to Mordor, moments before his own life is taken. Resurrected by a Spirit of vengeance and empowered with Wraith abilities, Talion ventures into Mordor and vows to destroy those who have wronged him. Every enemy that players face is a unique individual, differentiated by their personality, strengths and weaknesses. Through the Nemesis System, enemy relationships and characteristics are shaped by player actions and decisions to create personal archenemies that remember and adapt to the player and are distinct to every gameplay session. Gamers are able to craft their own battles, enemies and rewards within the dynamic world that remembers and adapts to their choices, delivering a unique experience to every player.

Played it for a long time and tilll the end. The game is amazing I would say, the battle system, the abilities you are able to unlock as well as the graphics and world make it a must try. The game has received praise and numerous awards all over the world. I would say do not think twice, buy it or pay two times more for the Game of the year Edition. Both are worth it.
Oh, you can also look at youtube to see the gameplay but the real fun begins when you take hold of the hero on your own.

My fav game of the year, dont need to be a LOTR fan to enjoy, a great "hack n slash" with added stealth, magic & other weapons. It even updates you on fights from your friends list. The enemy are the same for everyone (although could be different levels) & if you kill someone who in another single player game has killed someone in your friends list, you get bonus points for revenge kills - really addictive game & a steal at anything less than £15 imo
I do however agree like littlevincent, it does become repetitive, but dont all games if you play them solidly for hours & hours

GOTY gives you a lot of DLC. The original game ending will leave you unsatisfied (e.g. you would say: just like that??). But I guess the proper ending is on the DLC, bright lord. I finished the game but not the bright lord DLC just yet. However, the gameplay itself is very rewarding. You might struggle a little bit at start, but once you get the hang of it, it is very enjoyable game. For me, arkham knight does not even a match against Mordor.

This is a tremendous deal. I bought the GOY edition last week and have been playing this ever since. It's a brilliant game, incredibly addictive. It's a perfect mash up of Batman & Assassin's Creed
I've done net to nothing story-wise but have nearly fully levelled up due to the Nemesis system. Every few minutes I'm fighting yet another captain...

i stopped after a couple of hours, didnt enjoy it.
its batman style fighting, but the fights seem to last 20mins, then 2 minutes later an other starts. at least that's what it felt like.
if you like that sort of thing them you'll love this. i think im in the minority

I absolutely loved this game. its the first one for years that I played start to finish, and got all the DLC for it. Love the way the controls work and the rune system allows you different abilities. Well worth a tenner!
