M&S have various items 1/2 price over the next few days. As posted already, today is the party food.
Tomorrow is Orchids and Monday is the festive chocolate trays.
This may have already been posted. I just popped in on my way to work and a lady working showed me her offer slip!
This is my first post, be gentle :)

If M&S can still make a decent profit on these (and all the other so-called 'half price' offers) at 50% of the normal selling price, which they will be, doesn't that rather suggest that the 'normal' prices are an absolute rip off?

Coloured tray red or gold with clear covering!! They are half price at £7 so post is incorrect as was already £7 have not been reduced today!!! They are the same chocolate from milk dark and white bars not worth the £7 if im honest as its equivalent to 3-4 bars that prob cost £3
The italian chocolates are much nicer though do cost a bit more

They are in a clear box so not like a normal box......contains a long rectangle tray with dark/milk/plain square chocolates on (all the same size and in neat rows). It's not massive and not worth the £14 original price but I for one think it's a really good buy at £7 because it looks different.

BTW I hope I haven't come across as one of the increasing number of critics on this site. They demand to see a receipt of the item or a date stamped shelf edge display. Even when it is a good buy they deride the deal because they personally wouldn't buy it. Or deride the OP for not providing enough details of a deal that isn't even live yet when the OP is clearly being good enough to give us all a heads up.
So whilst I would be amazed if Marks do another half price on a half price item, it's not beyond the realms of possibility. A chap in the queue with me on Saturday was stocking up on Champagne because there was a double discount to be had. A few more quid off a box of chocs might not be that inconceivable

Wow - a lot of stressed out spleen-venting here today. So much for the season of good will...For what it's worth, I appreciate the listing and the lister, will visit M&S tomorrow and, if the price seems good v the product on offer, will buy several. Simple. Let's keep the community strong folks - an environment where people are encouraged to share good deals rather than burying them for fear of the potential fallout.

I did the same - the Belgian flaked choc truffles at half price are already a good buy. In fact their entire range of Xmas chocolates are half price already.
They can easily sell the trays which are currently £7 without any further discount as they are good for two reasons - as a platter at a food party or as a gift for someone which is a bit different from your usual box of chocolates. That item certainly matches the description of "festive chocolate trays" but whether the 50% off is in addition to the current 50% off remains to be seen.

13 Dec 15#123
Bought a couple of packs of the Belgian flaked choc truffles today, they were £6 down to £3 and very nice. A load of the chocolate trays were £14 to £7 and they had a Walnut Whip 'Tree' I think was reduced to £5.

The half price orchids are good for people who would normally buy them.......but that must be a small percentage of people through their doors on a Sunday.
As others have said a lot of the chocolates are already half price including the long trays with squares of them in neat rows. In ours £14 down to £7. I will be amazed if these go down again as they are already a good price.
Their standard ranges of chocolates are in trays. One Christmas they were doing buy 3 for £6 and so it could be those. We'll only know for certain on Monday.

The T.V. Advert is "5 deals for 5 days." So it's a deal a day. The sandwiches were on Friday only. It's orchids today ( not orchards!!!). Not all the deals are going to appeal to everyone. The original post was about festive chocolate trays going half price on Monday, so I wrote -
"These were £5 yesterday, already half price. If these drop to £2.50, I will be buying 4. The tray is really nice and the chocolates will be good."
You took it upon yourself to write in response;
"If they're already 'half price' at £5 that's the price they'll be 'reduced' to. They won't be £2.50."
There was no need for it, and you completely missed the point about what I was saying. If already half the orIginal price and dropping to half price on Monday, then they would obviously be £2.50! If I have to reply to these comments I will.

If M&S can still make a decent profit on these (and all the other so-called 'half price' offers) at 50% of the normal selling price, which they will be, doesn't that rather suggest that the 'normal' prices are an absolute rip off?
2ManyKids to Newbold

Chriath to Newbold
12 Dec 152#37
Given M&S prices I'm sure you're right but logically speaking plenty of supermarkets and stores have very big discounts as loss leaders - you drastically slash your profits on one item to get people through the door assuming many will buy additional items thus bumping up your overall profit for the day. Just because they can sell at half price doesn't mean it was a rip off at full price. Personally I think M&S's party food is way better quality than the other supermarkets and would buy it in the usual 4for3 deal, so buy one get one free is very good. Their orchids on the other hand are no different to anywhere else and half price still makes them more expensive than other supermarkets and B&Q/ Homebase.

Oh, and your comment makes no sense.
The italian chocolates are much nicer though do cost a bit more
i.e. Tuesday.
I only reported on what I saw. Sorry.
And they are indeed half price (£14 down to £7) and still a very good buy at that.
I may buy one at £7 now as I still think that is a good price......
Just caught a silver jumper Flamedeer whilst writing this
Why do these get posted / voted hot!
Good luck.
So whilst I would be amazed if Marks do another half price on a half price item, it's not beyond the realms of possibility. A chap in the queue with me on Saturday was stocking up on Champagne because there was a double discount to be had. A few more quid off a box of chocs might not be that inconceivable
Half price party food yesterday was the best deal, my freezer is full.
We'll have to wait until tuesday then.
Thanks for the OP though, now I know to go into my local M&S tomorrow and get some chocolates.
Heat!.
Thanks.
Always one who isn't happy. Over 1000 people voted hot and only one commented complaining. So you're insignificant to me I'm afraid.
Even if I had taken a picture I still wouldn't have had time to upload it all as I work a lot of hours and then have a family to care for at home.
Get a life!
I had a quick look yesterday and they had a big one at £16. So that'll be £8 today.

Just bought this one, was still £20 at the till. Not the end of the world, I was buying it anyway, but a bit annoying.
if so... does anyone know what is Tuesday's offer?
Thanks.
Cheers. Happy Christmas to all.
The tray chocolates are already on offer so it isn't those either, if I'm wrong I'll eat an orchid..........
M&S had already made this half price, so why would they promote it as happening on Monday if they already did it! Weirdo
If that's the case though and the ones you bought are reduced, take them back and rebuy
oh.
err.
hang on!
:innocent:
"These were £5 yesterday, already half price. If these drop to £2.50, I will be buying 4. The tray is really nice and the chocolates will be good."
You took it upon yourself to write in response;
I have a code for a net of chocolate coins if anyone wants it. I won them on the M&S unwrap competition but I won't be visiting an M&S anytime soon. I will send the code to the first person to inbox for it.
My friend works in the food hall, she usually pops over on a Saturday night, I will ask her about any deals & the bucks Fizz offer for whoever was asking xxx
Many thanks to Op

I guess they're OK for £4.50 though.
