I literally had two minutes to create the post to let people know what the offer was. I was about to start work, I didn't have time to stand in Marks detailing all the prices!

If M&S can still make a decent profit on these (and all the other so-called 'half price' offers) at 50% of the normal selling price, which they will be, doesn't that rather suggest that the 'normal' prices are an absolute rip off? :wink:

But you have time to nit pick. The information was shown to me in black and white, and actually the things listed were all half price, so I struggle to see your point.

Coloured tray red or gold with clear covering!! They are half price at £7 so post is incorrect as was already £7 have not been reduced today!!! They are the same chocolate from milk dark and white bars not worth the £7 if im honest as its equivalent to 3-4 bars that prob cost £3
The italian chocolates are much nicer though do cost a bit more

I'm wondering if the cheeses and pate's are due to come on offer? I went in last week and the half price on certain pate's and cheeses were on, but went through full price and the staff said the offer shouldn't have been put out then?

I've tried and tried to find a picture online of these and have failed!

It was the orchids half price as well the £16 ones are £8 as well as the £7 chocs

I did ask in store and both sales assistants confirmed they are already half price at £7.00 and there is no additional offer.

No, nobody about and was on my way to work so didn't fancy queing just to ask. There was an end aisle with the trays and some in a box both half price but that was all, both were labelled half price but have been for a while.

The offer was printed on a staff members product list. It was not a 'non offer'. The previous offers posted were correct!

Just been into m&s in poole and can confirm trays of chocs are selling at £7.00 and not £3.50.

Popped in before work, no different to what was half price on Saturday.

BTW I hope I haven't come across as one of the increasing number of critics on this site. They demand to see a receipt of the item or a date stamped shelf edge display. Even when it is a good buy they deride the deal because they personally wouldn't buy it. Or deride the OP for not providing enough details of a deal that isn't even live yet when the OP is clearly being good enough to give us all a heads up.

So whilst I would be amazed if Marks do another half price on a half price item, it's not beyond the realms of possibility. A chap in the queue with me on Saturday was stocking up on Champagne because there was a double discount to be had. A few more quid off a box of chocs might not be that inconceivable :smiley:

I did the same - the Belgian flaked choc truffles at half price are already a good buy. In fact their entire range of Xmas chocolates are half price already.

They can easily sell the trays which are currently £7 without any further discount as they are good for two reasons - as a platter at a food party or as a gift for someone which is a bit different from your usual box of chocolates. That item certainly matches the description of "festive chocolate trays" but whether the 50% off is in addition to the current 50% off remains to be seen.

Bought a couple of packs of the Belgian flaked choc truffles today, they were £6 down to £3 and very nice. A load of the chocolate trays were £14 to £7 and they had a Walnut Whip 'Tree' I think was reduced to £5.

Half price party food yesterday was the best deal, my freezer is full.

From what I gather off others posts, it was the £16 orchid that was 1/2 price.

It had the dates on for the offers.

I was in a shop the other day too, and saw some chocs on offer, I have no idea what type or how much and have no link that works to take anyone to it. Maybe I should post that? You didn't have time to write down or take a picture of what it is you are posting but you had time to post it!! Listen I was being nice by saying it was vague, which it is. The half price orchids are good for people who would normally buy them.......but that must be a small percentage of people through their doors on a Sunday.

As others have said a lot of the chocolates are already half price including the long trays with squares of them in neat rows. In ours £14 down to £7. I will be amazed if these go down again as they are already a good price.

Their standard ranges of chocolates are in trays. One Christmas they were doing buy 3 for £6 and so it could be those. We'll only know for certain on Monday.

The T.V. Advert is "5 deals for 5 days." So it's a deal a day. The sandwiches were on Friday only. It's orchids today ( not orchards!!!). Not all the deals are going to appeal to everyone. The chocolate trays are pretty good. I've had them before and they're good and the tray comes in useful over the holiday period too.

I just bought these for £7 yesterday if they are the rectangular ones (gold or red lacquered trays) with chocolates on them - down frrm £14 - if it is these ones I wont be happy as I was told by assistant today they would not be in any other sale!

I remember because I had a good feel of the trays! haha. They are really good quality. Chocolate is chocolate but they looked thick and will no doubt taste good being M&S.
