Yeah but if you buy a big bag of $**t for a pound it's still a bag of $**t ...regardless of weight it's got to taste good & not make the food yo are adding it to taste rank, ..at least that's how we've always worked the basis of a deal (& ketchup)

Actually the ketchup is one of the few things in Lidl we do not rate as worthy, I found it very vinegary, (& I love vinegar) ..strange.

On topic, Lidl's ketchup is much nicer than it was when it was produced in glass bottles under the Vitakrone brand name. Those early days mid 90s to mid 2000s Lidl budget products were horrid. Nowadays, I rate a lot of their products as great. Heck, I'd even go so far as to say this ketchup is nicer than Heinz. Not as sweet as Heinz and more flavoursome.

will be sure to get some 50bottles of the ketchup, best tasting ketchup there is for under £1.5 a bottle

Heh heh, some kind soul here told me to try the red lablel teabags & I must agree they are a very good standard of cuppa (good strength in a regular size mug) ..excellent value.
The bacon, I have also had, it's ok (trust me that's not being dismissive, seeing as I cure my own bacon & "stuff" then cold smoke & age it ..(the mega premium stuff that you'd balk at the price in all likelihood) it's ok when none is quite ready, or I haven't had time to get my big Berkel slicer out & slice up a few Kg for the family.
(right now I have around 20kg of pork on a rotation for coming weeks ..that will all be bacon,
Surprised no-one has mentioned the new craft beer range at 99p per bottle, i'm trying out the porter & the bitter for a few black treacle bacon variants, the brews are far from offensive & excellent value.

The one downside with their ketchup is that it can't be stored top down, because it is too oily.

Never had this problem and I've been buying it for a long time.
Are you keeping your ketchup in the fridge (as you're supposed to), or in the cupboard?

I keep mine on the kitchen table. I just shake it and it's fine. Cold ketchup sucks

If you want Streaky Bacon Rashers - for any occasion - the Lidl 7 unsmoked middle bacon rashers @ 79p is an incredible deal
Ignore the ad image - they're very thinly cut
Just cut off the seven "streaky rashers" and use the rest for - whatever
I've already purchased mine for Christmas/New Year @ £1.59 :disappointed: - but this product freezes well so I'll be stocking up!
