does not really mean this is a deal , when only one person actually got this lap top .
Should of been expired days ago

I got one as well as the op and there were 5 left. To expire it someone needs to ascertain there are none left it. If it was just one store with them then fair enough.

Hello,
Went to PC World near old trafford - manchester , no stock and when they checked there only one in manchester ( the clearence centre PC world on ashton road heading out of manchester ) believed to be pre owned.
They are selling a yoga 500 at 299 but that looks alot lower spec.
Hope that saves someone a wild goose chase.

Thanks OP.
I know I've probably missed this deal and so be it but I'm struggling to know what's a good deal. I'm after a new laptop, say £300-£400 and keep seeing deals that look alright then I start reading the comments and all of a sudden I'm dubious as to how good they, I don't need anything spectacular, it's for my son to do his homework on and for some internet browsing, e-mails etc and perhaps watching movies, not really gaming. This deal looks good and then I read about SSD and SSHD and I'm thinking is this alright? Any help please?

Well that wasn't what the guy on the phone told me . All yellow clearance is display stock .
dealdex to yozzman1234
9 Dec 152#24
Yellow clearance is sealed unit price until they have no brand new units left, the display model is then sold.
Dave515 to yozzman1234

Yellow sticker does not mean display. I simply means clearance. Which means they are allowed to sell the display model because there will not be any more stock sent out. I know this because I work at pc world. If you do go there and the display one is all they have left, sweet talk them as they are allowed to do a further 10% discount to get rid of the last item

Typical of some people on here, can't even be arsed to apologize after practically calling the OP a liar and him posting the pics of receipt and the laptop. Please accept my apologies on his behalf and thanks for taking the time to share this deal, I will be having a look at stores around me in the hope of getting one as am on the lookout for similar products.

Must apologise. I nipped this morning and I bought one. As if this morning at 9am they had 4 left. One of these is the display model.
So the guy at Leicester was fobbing me off. I celebrated with a bacon butty. It's just like the op said. They are opened boxes. The guy tried to glob me a sub stick with the backup if the machine but I declined.
So this is trinity square PC world in Nottingham. Not sure how many they have left.

For anyone interested and in London, I saw the exact item in London's Moorgate PC World for at a slightly higher £399 just yesterday, might be worth a call.

It'll be SSHD, hybrid drive, 8GB is just faster cache memory, so fundamentally its just a normal HDD with slightly faster buffering. I'd replace with an SSD if the option is available to you. I speak from experience, I have replaced the drive in these, they are WD 2.5" laptop drives. There is not a separate 8GB M2/MSATA drive. Some laptops do have these additional MSATA SSD drives but they are generally 24GB or greater.

Just had my time and money wasted by the retards at Curry's PC World. They told me there was stock in Nuneaton and we got there to find they never had any stock. Absolutely hate this company.

9 Dec 15#37
I think it either has a separate tiny SSD or its a Fusion Drive, OP says 8gb SSD so pretty much just the OS will fit on it

I don't know the exact model, but it's definitely good value.
The charger is both a brilliant design and bloody annoying though. It doubles up at both ends, meaning you can use the power brick as a USB charger, but when you're charging the laptop, you lose one of the USB ports.

Good price - after the various bits of cashback I ended up paying £500 for the i7 256GB SSD version of this - it's a fantastic machine.

if you bought the same one I did on Black friday, its the Yoga 700 which I think is a little thinner/lighter than the 500 - which makes it even bettter value

9 Dec 152#28
on what planet is that not worth more than £400? you might get a standard i5 for that price, but you won't get 1 nice 1080p screen, let alone touchscreen, convertible form factor, and SSHD. Great price IMO. If I hadn't just bought a yoga 700 for £550 I'd have jumped at that.

This is hardly that good of a deal anyway. Never worth that RRP and prob not worth much over £400.

Yellow ticket is clearance stock, clearance does not necessarily mean ex-display, just means it can be sold off display if there are none remaining. Dependent on how many the branch has remaining.
