Seems like a great deal for a standard size laptop with 8gb ram.
Am i missing something or does this offer seem to be too good to be true?
2 year warranty included.

COLD! No dedicated graphics card, 1080p screen, SSD or i7.
Spend a little extra, maybe treble, and you might get something worthwhile. :stuck_out_tongue:

CPU slow, screen low resolution and average battery. At this price with 2 years warranty very hot!

That seems a decent bit of kit for the money. OK, CPU isn't the greatest but for £200 you really can't complain. Other specs are up there and above the usual offerings we've seen today unless I've missed other bargains. I think it's worth some heat

Do you think this can handle GoPro studio and allow for decent video editing whilst running other bits and bobs? Tata

At this price it goes without saying the resolution is 1366 x 768 pixels though looks like a decent price.

Was planing to post it in the morning, but was't sure is it deal or not-very often standard prices are better than those saving deals.Hot from me.

CPU is pony but not a bad price. Got an i3 5010u with 4gb ram, 1tb ssdhd for ~£210 a few days ago. The i3 is vastly superior and there have been deals for i3's near or at this all this week.
But not many people with £200 laptops sit running Cinebench on them. What they do is have a browser open with a couple of dozen tabs rather than using bookmarks and for this lot's of ram, a quad core with the ability to turbo to 2.4ghz and a Lenovo keyboard will probably offer a nicer user experience than benchmarks might suggest.

Processor is garbage, so is the screen resolution. MUCH better off spending a little bit more. You'll regret not.

27 Nov 151#18
It's odd because I've never used a resolution higher than this on a laptop and I don't think I've suffered terribly because of it but then the last new laptop I bought was in early 2011.
On the plus side I've saved a bit of money but oh the anguish I've suffered from not having those extra pixels. :disappointed:

The processor is an N3700 which scores 1824 points on http://www.cpubenchmark.net which is twice a similar priced laptop listed on here today scored. With 8GB RAM and a two year guarantee, this is a great price. The screen resolution is standard without spending twice as much money. Up to 4 hour battery life is not the greatest, but you can't have everything.

You sound like you have some knowledge.
Would i be able to source a laptop for £400 (approx) with:
SSD min 128 (or smaller but upgradeable)
HDD 500gb min
Seperate Numeric Keypad
15 or 17" screen
Basically used for browsing (upto 100 tabs in chrome) at a time
and spreadsheets etc.
Gaming graphics not required.
Looking for fast and powerful browsing really
Thanks

Help please!
My 5 year old Thinkpad Edge (Intel® Core™ i3 Dual Core (350M, 3MB Cache, 2.26 GHz) is really struggling, slowing down, USB ports failing as is the touch pad. So I was thinking of this one for internet use, spreadsheet work some photo editing and light video editing, no gaming.
Sorry I am actually 188 points short! so yeah, 10.30% slower than this monster

But i3's have been going for this money or near this money all week and they are almost double the performance of this.
It is a good price but not that hot in my opinion.

I don't think anyone is claiming this is lightning speed, but with 8GB RAM it is good value for money. You must have bought the T7800 when it just came out and I suspect it cost you several times what this one cost.

Ram can actually be upgraded though. A cpu upgrade in a laptop is not so easy! Granted the warranty is good ( though the medion deal had 2 years as well)
I am not saying it is a bad deal. I would just rather have an i3 if i was spending this much.

You would not notice any difference if this was a 4gb or 8gb model, given that the purpose for this laptop is to surf web, watch youtube, netflix and chill. + word processing.
Running windows 7, browsing the web and typing assignments, I only use 1.3GB out of 2GB this laptop has.
I have another desktop with 8gb ram (1600mhz), processor scoring 7500 points, I know how a fairly quick computer works.
For 200 quid, this is a good option if you need a laptop for basic tasks, but if your laptop is the main work station, I would not recommend anything below 4000 points.
If you have a half decent laptop that has become slow over time, it is more cost effective to have an IT guy service it for 30-40 quid rather than purchase this.

Depending on your browser like Firefox/Mozzila and have multiple tabs open you will notice the difference between 4GB and 8GB. I have 16GB on my main PC and when you have 30+ tabs open (Cause im lazy and have multiples open for various jobs on that day) you notice that is starts soaking memory up.
For example I have had my PC on 12hrs since the last restart and 1.1GB of ram is taken by the browser. Have to restart once a week as it fills up.

I have a friend who does this, and his computer is no rocket either  I don't keep more than maybe 6 tabs open most of the time.

When I get to 60+ tabs open and Ram is @ 8GB ... its time to close some tabs lol
