Cheers, this looks alright actually, should be a lot faster than the Lenovo
Amazon also has the SanDisk 240 for £45. Thats a good spec .....i5, 240 ssd, 4gb ram, win 10. Get an external hdd enclosure and thats 500gb of external storage too.
Ahh now I'm seriously tempted. Thanks for the heads up.
...OK bought it. Xmas present

Been looking for a half decent laptop for the wife's Xmas present so managed to get a price match with John Lewis on this Lenovo (JL price £349.99), same machine but with Windows 10 and an Intel i3-5020u on board and of course the 2 year warranty. (With the added bonus that the purple option is a colour she loves!)

How do I get John Lewis to price match please? Does it not need to be the same model? Thanks for your help.

Hi, technically it does indeed need to be exactly the same but I chanced my hand so to speak and submitted a price match request anyway, they emailed me back within about 2hrs and said they would match it, I then needed to order the laptop at the full price and upon delivery I claim the difference back via refund using the price match case number they send you. To be honest I have probably been lucky to have someone authorise it who I suspect wasn't fully switched on to the differences, notably the better Intel i3 processor instead of the older n3540. Worth a go so hope you get lucky also.

Just had confirmation that they will match the price for me also. So do i order or wait until the Christmas sales?

Well, I guess that's always the risk you take on this type of purchase before the sales. One things for sure it's a £70 saving now which might not necessarily be up for grabs in the New Year.

Thanks. They wouldn't match the price for me but it was worth a go!
