Seems like John Lewis have begun to reduce their Christmas hamper type products as per this example.

Nice

My wife came down from having a bath, gave me a wink and said, "I shaved my pubes in the bath and you know what that means?"
I said, "Yes, the plug hole is blocked?"

I know it's an odd thing to be bothered by, but the Christmas cube I just received doesn't have a lid, which makes it awkward to give as all the contents are visible. It cannot be wrapped, either, as everything would fall out being topless. The items inside are nice but I think a lid would finish it off in a more seasonally appropriate way.
It may be that the intent is to be sans lid, as one is not shown in the photo, but it just seems peculiar to me. I wouldn't have bought it had I realised. Just my two cents.

Some clever soul done the individual pricing maths perchance? My laze is professional.

For what you get still won't be buying!

Certainly not worth £75. A review says it doesn't have a lid. So it's not even a true cube!

How on earth was 2 bottles of wine plus some snacks worth £75? Bet they sold terribly hence the price slash

Awful even for £37.50

I guess whether it is a good deal or not depends on the wine value.

Wouldn't pay £20 for it. Could understand it if the food was posh or the wine was good, but going through the stuff I can't get my head around the price. Even at half price. Paying for the hamper? Packaging looks relatively artisanal which will catch a few folk out I guess.
And that's using the individual overpriced selling prices.

Silver & Green Sweet Basil Olives, 220g
Fruity, pitted green olives in a hand prepared oil marinade which has been gently infused with sweet basil. Marinated and packed in the English Lake District.
Would they taste worse if they were marinated and packed in say Croydon?

If they reduced the £37.50 to half price again... then I would buy! Definitely not a great bargain price!

Now reduced to £22.50, so not quite half price, another 40% off.

Yes but then there isn't a convenient talking point to segue into discussion about your Lake District holiday home with the other 'rahs' you've invited over for a dinner party when talk of the kid's 'gap yahs' and the latest gossip from the country club has died down.
