Well, I`ll say it again. Apple profits for their last productive year meant that they could afford to give a fiver (£5) to every man woman & child on the planet, just from those 2014-15 net gains. They`d still be left wuth colossal revenues from other fiscal periods. Not hard to see why. A near-six hundred pound, previous model phone going flaming hot on HUKD. You`ve got to hand it to the Cupertino wizards, the spell they cast on the hapless masses is astounding.

Price is what you pay, value is what you get.
The main appeal of the iPhone for me is, direct software updates, no carrier or manufacturer bloatware, great post sale customer service support. Now is that worth the premium over android products - that's your call.

Android is still crippled by operators and manufacturers fetish to differentiate (probably borne out from the legion of mindless MBA's running these companies), the hardware is the best but its badly let down by the software mods and support. It's a failure if the first thing you need to do is root a phone to release the o/s and hardware from the artificial straight jacket.

I agree! but unfortunately the hype attached to the Apple brand make it unlikely to drop the prices by 50%. This is why I am anti big brands such as Apple!! I wish everyone took the same stance and in doing so big brands like Apple would adjust their prices and I also wish the media give it very little coverage whenever Apple launch new models or gadget.

Seems to me Apple happily cripple their products, my iPad 2 is virtually useless now for email and browsing. If buying a top of the range, latest model Apple product I would always assume you are looking at2-3 years Max usage before they cripple it.

I'm surprised you say that about a 6, I still use a 5S with 9.2 and the kids use the 5. I've not noticed any performance problem.

24 Dec 15 1 #22
I've had the 16Gb version for 9 months, good phone and still flies with iOS 9.2 and will last 2+ days on light usage. It is prone to bending though if you don't have a strong case and have quite tight pockets. Great for video due to size and resolution, but downside is in portrait orientation it's not the most ergonomic for most websites where the navigation is at the top of the screen.

Although this is a hot deal, as it's currently the cheapest you'll get this handset, other than refurbished, it still presents poor value for money for a one year old handset.

I've no doubt there head line 128GB capacity will really draw people in, but consider the NAND flash is this costs a sum total of approximately $30, then would the 16GB one get the same heat, or be judged fantastic, I think not.

Think carefully before jumping in with this, when there are offers on there new models popping up from time to time, I've just had the 64GB 6S with 10% off, and 7% cash back.

Do you understand what value means? It is not poor value as something is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it. In this sense, the correct sense that is, this is great value as you could literally buy it and sell it at a profit and quickly at that. Please don't ever factor in cost to selling value, business just doesn't work like that. Yes to you it is not of value because you aren't prepared to pay that price for a year old device but PLENTY of people are.

Though that is not comparing like with like. No-one else makes phones with iOS so off course no manufacturer bloatware.
Android is an OS which is freely available for any manufacturer to use no different than say anyone making PC's and loading with windows or Chrome. In this market then off course they have to try and differentiate just like PC manufactures. To compare like for like it is best then to look towards the Nexus devices pure android with updates, minus bloatware etc.
Before anyone shouts android fanboy I'm commenting from my iPad, own a Nexus 6P and have had iPhones. My reason for Android is work an app that is only on android because of Apples stuffy app and OS restrictions.
What is quite funny though is normally on any android/apple threads everyone says about the other and voting cos say the android fans are about, but on this one it is apple users complaining themselves and the above post somehow for unknown reason raising the subject.

Good deal OP voted hot if it wasn't for having to have android I certainly would have bought.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Really interesting post....I agree completely about the networks. They should just stick to what that are (or at least should be) good at. On the hardware though I actually think Apple make the best hardware but I can run so many things I need to like advanced network diagnostics etc. out of the box on android, something apple won't allow. Yes there are even more advanced options you can utilise by rooting your phone, again another choice Apple will not grant you, furthermore, I have an ipad mini that I updated to the latest OS as they would not issue a new certificate for Facetime that they let expire. It is now so unusable that it is only any good as a paperweight as it is also not my choice if I wan't to downgrade it. As a result I am forced to be an "Android Man" but if Apple took off the arrogance I could so easily be an Apple man.

I haven't personally met a mindless MBA yet but I do know that an MBA is by far the most valued degree qualification to offer businesses across the world when seeking employment. In the UK it is harder to be admitted to an MBA course than than any other, and that includes harder than medicine or dentistry, and its a lot more expensive than any other course.
Not everyone wants to fiddle about with their phone. Many just want to use it as a phone with a few useful extras, and don't need to upgrade merely to be fashionable, or to boast. As for choice, that is up to the individual. As always there are arguments for and against all operating systems. Its only a few years since Blaclberry was THE phone to have for business. Before that it was Nokia, and earlier still, Motorola, who invented the mobile phone.Where are they now? The global android phone market is over 80% and increasing, especially at the top end of the market where phones are far from cheap. Apple's biggest market is the US, and two or three years ago it seems that China would become its second biggest market or even take first place. Now that seems to be out of the window due to the increasing availability in China of top class home grown phones that can run rings around any Apple, or for that matter Microsoft phone. As for rooting, why do millions root iphones if its not related to software issues?

bigpappa to CaptainCustard
24 Dec 15 #56
It depends on how the person views the phone. If they view it as a positional product ie it has value because others have it for example the Jones getting a new BMW, means you need to get one as well to keep up. Now if everyone gets an iphone then it becomes the minimum requirement for acceptance. So price never comes into it.
Agharta to CaptainCustard
24 Dec 15 #57
It's worth what people subjectively think it is worth which is not objective and not necessarily related to manufacturing costs or quality.
Apple are primarily a marketing company in my eyes and are superb at it.
Not my cup of tea but at least they hold their value well.
Just purchased from Amazon Warehouse a mint Note 4 + a mint Nexus 6 + a brand new 200GB SD card for £120 less than the price of this deal which gives it another perspective.
But if you are tied into the Apple ecosystem then it makes sense to pony up rather than jump ship.

No one else makes a BMW apart from BMW. I think you are mistaking what I am comparing.

You buy a phone to do a job for you, make calls, use apps, email, surf the net etc some of these jobs are shared by many but each person will weigh each job to be done differently. So when you are comparing products then i am comparing them on the jobs to be done and therefore comparing iphone vs android phones is valid in those terms.

As to differentiation then what are you differentiating on. Take for example the iphone whether i buy that from Vodafone, JL etc it will be the same phone except one will be locked. Now if the operators add their own bloatware then they are homogenising the product ie Voda will add its bloatware to LG, Samsung, Sony etc. So what are they actually doing other than making the phone less differentiated not more.

Also where else do operators differentiate? Price, customer service and network quality. So why do they need to also hamstring the product as well?
xVBIx
24 Dec 15 #54
a lot of bugs on iOS 9, and you can't downgrade to old version. In my opinion, the best version was iOS 7.1.2 really fast performance, but unfortunately Apple still control a customer.
cecilmcroberts
24 Dec 15 #59
But that is exactly the same with Nexus devices bloatware free regardless where you buy or network.
For the others it's down to profit/price etc by placing bloatware encouraging use of own products or subsidised by other companies think like the dreaded McAfee trials or Norton etc.

This is a ticking timebomb, the last iOS update already slowed this down noticeably, it's stutters and drops frames more so than before. 1GB of RAM is a big constraint for this device when the new iOS devices all have 2GB at least. It's just not very future proof at all, I wouldn't even pay £300 for this, let alone £600.
lotuschap to Tim1292
25 Dec 15 1 #181
i reckon at 300 quid youd be over paying. they are not worth the price of a comparable android, and so much less value that windows phones. Apple have crippled all devices by introducing such a terrible os in the 8+ upgrades, crippling most devices .... and they dont give a toss. Id never have another apple device, even if it sucked me off daily. So a good price, for overpriced crap and deserving of heat for the price reduction, but you gotta be a knob to pay it.

Great price, Great product however not for me as its far too big even the 6 is too big!

It goes from a practical phone to a ridiculously over sized product aimed at competing on size with the Samsung's and other manufacturers. They should bring out a smaller version next year otherwise will be looking elsewhere for a phone

25 Dec 15 1 #112
At least you have the opportunity to root an Android phone and do what you want on your device (no such luck with Apple). What happened to all those rooted (jailbroken) Apple phones a few years back... oh they turned into expensive bricks when Apple released an update.

Or the time they said a massive design flaw of dropping calls was the customers fault they were holding their phone wrong... Oh! But we will give you a free case to help you hold our phones better cause we're such a good company. /facepalm

Least you know with a cheap Android you can afford to upgrade it each year and still be quids in vs the Apple phones at £500+.

I don't think you understand how modern tech works. Your device shipped with iOS 4 about 45 months ago. You've had every update immediately upon release, that's 6 different operating systems over what is an AGE in modern tech. Your device may be built to last a while but it may not necessarily be future proofed this far down the line. Consider the alternatives. 17 months to get the 'new' operating system, and fortunate to get 2 updates or perhaps at best 3.
'They' didn't cripple it. YOU did. You chose to install an OS far beyond its effective capabilities. They made it available to you, but with a caveat that you chose to ignore. You had the choice, overstretch your device with a system way beyond its practical abilities, or stay with a stable system that may not be the latest. You opted for the former, and in the process suffered the consequences. It wasn't because of a deliberate system designed to control you, or manipulate you through funny chemicals intentionally exuded by planes, or placed in our water system, or swimming in our vaccinations, or by the lizard style shape shifting beings on the apple board who force you to overpay for crippled devices with short shelf lives. It was because you over-eagerly jumped on the SIXTH ITERATION OF THE OPERATING SYSTEM since your device was released. Try buying a nexus 7 from 2012 which is of a preferably budget but has been maxed out at the 1st update made available to it and was by all reports bricked by that first update. Then come back and point out your device has been crippled when you've only had 6 times as many updates.

25 Dec 15 #131
The flaw in your argument is roll back, to downgrade back to a previous version after Apple stops signing it.

You are correct that you have a choice to upgrade or not, but then part of the appeal of an iPhone is the ios updates.

Or are you arguing that os updates are a privilege?

That's such a nonsense statement. I work with and write software and would regard myself as competent in this high tech field. I want my phone to run smoothly and don't particularly want to play around changing useless settings for the sake of it, but generally from my android days to try and make improvements in the efficiency to a point where it runs more smoothly.
Horses for courses. Android in my view is more a toy as quite if few of their users enjoy customising and 'playing' around with the settings.

Current issues for me with iPad 2 and latest iOS updates.

Bowser slow and crashes and occasionally looses logon details to regular visited sites
Facebook app slow and doesn't like embedded video
Wifi abruptly drops off (even at home in sane room as router) although it sees it and will connect manually when you go to settings

I've bought my daughter the latest iPad, I'll be monitoring it for these issues

My 3yr old IPad2 also became very sluggish after the IOS9 update. Thought that I'd have to throw it away. Took it to the local Apple Store to complain. They gave me an appointment to see the technician. He identified problems with some of my downloaded apps which IOS9 had issues with which previous software didn't. They cleaned all software off the Ipad and loaded fresh software (back your data up before appointment). I reloaded the apps. Works like new now!! Didn't charge a penny...

Sure it is worth a premium, so is having 3 times more RAM twice as many processor cores, a better higher res display and a much better camera. When you bought an LG G4 from the recent vodafone deal here you didn't pay a premium you paid about £351 less (after paying a tenner for a 64GB sdcard and £2.50 ebay unlock).

I don't care if people want to pay the Cuperinto idiot tax I just get annoyed when mediocre deals on obsolete crap get voted red hot here because it is obsolete apple crap. It makes deal temperature ratings here a joke.

£200 thats amazing. WAIT....£589 for a old generation phone (even Apple)?

I could quite happily write off my Moto G 1st generation, its what 2 year old now at least ?
But its still working and even has lollipop on it, I think I'll keep it as being an evironmentally sound consumer, I don't NEED to !

I just can't understand the need personally with either constantly having to change your phone, or keep apple in great profits, sorry

I've had first hand experience of Apple iPhone 3 and 4 and then android products convinced me you don't actually NEED an apple?
Its become the kind of aspiration product must have, I guess that similar to how models like BMW etc do so well making supercars that like bland and mundane and then sell loads of basic spec 1 or 3 series small engined petrols or diesels etc ....
I pass these people all the time in my 220hp TFSI I guess I can afford it because its a Skoda as I'm not a badge/brand snob and saved money from not having to waste on phones etc  Spec trumps brand, every day of the week....

Anyone can want an iPhone one but the 2 should not be confused, the spec from Motorola is more than sufficient for my needs !

I love Apple kit generally. My macbook pro is sublime. But I recently sold my 6 plus (having owned pretty much every previous iPhone except the 5) and got an LG G4 and don't regret it one bit. The 6 plus *really* suffers from only having 1gb ram. It is a bit galling that to fix it you have to go out and but the latest model with 2gb. Constant reloading of browser tabs, apps never remembering their state. Friends with same phone had not really noticed until I pointed it out and now they can't stop noticing it. My G4 in comparison seems to keep loads in memory without reloading.
You read lots of people day you shouldn't compare with android phones as the OS is so different and Apple stuff is much more efficient. All I can day is that having had a 6 plus for a year and my G4 for 2 months now the G4 is faster in everyday use and pretty much never reloads anything. Love it.

The Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Nexus 7 made the tablet useless for many owners. Users have called it a paperweight, a dead tablet, a waste of money and more since the update. From freezing, video playback issues, app crashes, poor battery life, charging problems, issues with even installing the update and more
mankymanning
25 Dec 15 #176
That's true, they are unbeaten in single core CPU tests and that's the most important measure tbh. They also use stupidly fast NAND for storage on the 6S too. However the previous generation simply doesn't have enough RAM which is the problem with this deal.
ipswich78
25 Dec 15 #177
Okay nothing like mentioning part of a non story, don't forget adding in this element helps give a clearer picture "Android 5.1 Lollipop has saved the original Nexus 7. At least for us."

Android 5.0 also wasn't the first update to that particular Nexus 7. Nothing wrong with being factual in your criticism but to elaborate / embellish facts to suit your own agenda is just foolish or shows a lack of knowledge.

Android isn't perfect, far from it - but to suggest that it is the only platform to ever suffer such problems is naive.

Nothing wrong with iPhones in general, but make sure you know how big this thing is before ordering. The upper and lower bezel is ridiculously large, due to the scale/size been in proportion to a regular iPhone.

Select-Cut/Copy/Paste is my biggest bugbear with Apple. Sometimes you copy, then paste and it doesn't paste what you definitely copied. Other times is just impossible to select the text, because the page itself moves when you try to drag left or right, or selection suddenly jumps to include the whole page/word.

Basically text selection doesn't work, Tim Cook believes his own hype far too much, and is surround by 'yes' men, that nothing gets done about it. It also shows the failings of the iPad Pro, because once you get to the £500+ figure for a device you just expect this sort of thing to work and it doesn't.

Steve Jobs was at least disconnected enough (almost distanced himself from Apple itself) to be sceptical regarding product launches and not accept poor interface design, that more and more is slipping through, due to Cook.

The new Macbook is also an example of pure design getting the better of practical design. Key travel is awful, the keyboard is generally not up to the job.

I remember buying the iPad 3 on release, and iOS 6 just worked fluidly, didn't crash - you couldn't fault it as a product. Every iOS Update, its been downhill since.

Fastest phone at benchmarks but what will it be like towards the end of your contract when 2GB is slim for a high end phone?
Doesn't matter how efficient the O/S is as it's webpages and apps that consume all the RAM. Once you are out of RAM performance drops terribly.
You can buy Android phones for £100 with 2GB but this has only 1GB. Really!
Thinks like this and the fact that they don't support SD-cards but charge extortionate amounts for larger storage models are very cynical and is one of the reasons that people dislike Apple.
They are a marketing driven company with massive profit margins that will save a little on manufacturing costs even though it cripples the long term viability of a product that is priced at the top of the market.
Very cynical.

Just who are you people trying to impress? Your Neighbour who already has dropped the same amount on same phone and thinks he's better than you? It's not year 1995-2000 anymore when having a mobile phone was something only few people could afford, do you really think ANYONE in this country cares or will show you more respect just because you have the latest i-thing? I'm not trying to impress anyone with my iPhone. I just like using it. Maybe there are people who buy them just to impress but I think there are many who are like me.

It's a bargain if it's cheaper for the same item from other vendors. Simple concept really.

Also, if it were £600 just for a lump of plastic it would would indeed be puzzling but that is not the case. It's £600 for an item of advanced technology with probably one of the finest overall user experiences of any smartphone. If that's not any value to you then don't buy an iPhone but to many people this is worth paying for, indeed if they did not thank that Apple would not be selling millions of them.

25 Dec 15 #212
Here is the full story:
On Black Friday I ordered 1 phone and 10 min later another 1.
For the both orders I received mails that no stock and when available they will be dispatched.

In 2 days the first order was dispatched. I had my email with 2-years guarantee and my email with my tracking number for 5 days delivery. On the fifth day (04/12/15) the parcel was given to the Courier and according JL the parcel is missing, below the info from Hermes:
04/12/2015 11:17 Awaiting Courier Receipt
04/12/2015 05:41 Manifested to Courier
03/12/2015 15:12 Processed at Depot

29/11/2015 06:40 Hub Sorter Receipt Scan
28/11/2015 20:59 Order Generated

So they offered me a replacement. I agreed but another mail that no stock availability so to choose between refund or another phone at this price. If they meant 99 pounds is not fair because I bought it at Black Friday from 249 pounds to 99. I sent them an email on 18th December and still no answer.

For the second phone in 14 days on the 11th December as indicated in the mail they cancelled the order. But the authorization for this money doesn't dropped off for the moment. According them the transaction is cancelled and is fault to my bank, my bank said is not cancelled.

So really I don't know.

Old man still on IOS 7 with his '4'. Feels a little sluggish at times but ok. I wish he stayed on iOS 6 but he likes the scroll menus.

My iPhone 6 is flying on iOS 9.2.
Upload a backup to iCloud then reload from that instead of iTunes. Gets rid of errors.

Oh I'm sorry have we accidentally dropped on on hotukappledeals ?

Get over yourself already just cos you have an iphone doesn't make you exclusive on where you can post

Its a deal post, of which some think is red hot and others scratching heads wondering why you'd even want to spend that much on a fairly mundane piece of plastic ( when you can have a far better performing full size decent laptop for that
much)

Your entitled to your opinions....as are others.....as follows the rules in other posts I'm sure, just because you are "apple" doesn't give you some golden ticket to speak or something lol

So you admitting that they are purely non environmentally sound consumers, surely under some kind of influence of Apply to keep buying their products despite not even really "needing" to ?

That's a very sad thing to admit to, for this day and age to be honest.

I'm grown up of an age where you don't dispose of things and you even try to mend thinks before you get rid of them (and then recycle them even) when they break.
Which is why I still have my Moto G gen 1. That would be equivalent to your 5C/5S now in release date terms. I plan to keep using it, its still pretty quick and works well for me.

Of course the next argument will be of all the phones still in circulation, but from the claims of knackered older devices it really doesn't sound like this is the case. Well done Apple and luddite users for doing your bit for worldwide environmental impact.

Whilst they may be trying to do a lot with recycling now, I think its more like the case of the Toyota Priuis whereby the costs and damage it does to create is far worse than the. IE false green credentials

Of course, you apple fanboys wanting your latest devices, just don't really care about any worldwide impact your demands have though do you so long as you get what you want ?

Sadly not something you - or Apple can "whitewash"

Eh? What an odd rant

I merely said that whether or not anyone NEEDS an expensive Apple phone is irrelevant. It's their money and if they want one then it's none of anyone else's business.

'You Apple fanboys.' Is that directed at me, a 10 year Android user?

Unfortunately one of my daughters likes AppleCrap and every 2 years we are left crippled by a phone that can no longer work with current Apple Store apps and therefore we need to either succumnb to update it, thus crippling the phone beyond its CPU core capabilities, thus needing the lates iPhone purchase to cope with the latest IOS. Shame as in all this time I have kept my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android phone running almost anything I need, and being able to put any memory card I want inside, and share with almost any device I come across. I can even go to mates houses and share my collection of downloaded films, music and photos on their smart/network TV's and play my netflix, Kodi, or PLEX servers when they struggle with their iPhones. Do I think this iPhone 6 is a bargain?..........What do you think?

26 Dec 15 #249
After ploughing through this deal for the past couple of deals it amazes and amuses me the comments that come from both sides of the Apple/Android/Microsoft camps and the only fact that I can deduce from all I read is that a lot of people have more money than common sense if they are willing to pay 5, 6, 7 hundred pounds for a phone that can do what their tablet/laptop etc. can do for them which they also own and does it easier and better than their phone can and they probably never use the phone to do it on only to receive the latest updates and play a few games on. Those that say they do anymore on the phone then why have they got a tablet/laptop that will probably have cost more than the phone, thus paying twice to make one redundant over the other.
Me I bought a dual sim Galaxy 2 Duos, because I wanted to carry just one phone for my 2 sim cards and because I needed to connect to my Gear S that will only work with Samsung phones. The gear S gives me alerts that I can glance at immediately and react upon as required, I can also take calls on the Gear S that saves me having to try to get the phone out of/from that last place I put it. If I want to make calls I do it from the phone as I find that the best way rather than from the Gear S. the total price of both was £500 but a price I had to pay but did not want to for those conveniences, how many watches allow you to receive calls. If I had had to pay over £500 just to buy the phone I would have done without as I can't see any situation were a phone is worth that price. this is especially as I have an Android phone, dual sim with 7 inch screen that I use as an off line SatNav that cost just under £35, giving me free SatNav programs that are regularly updated as well as the majority of Play Store apps that any other Android phone can download. I know I can download maps onto my Galaxy but as that only has a 5 inch screen it's not big enough for SatNav in my opinion. So on reflection this is a lousy deal as the price is still to high to be value, and value is what a deal should be. COLD.

I guess its directly Googles 2 fingers up to Apple on that rather limited point you make there. You could have manufacturer devices very well specified to their own OS via that route, as I found and it didn't take paying at least six times over to get it lol.

Oh and you have the added benefit they are providing the updates out of the best of intentions, not to cripple your phone so you have to buy another piece of hardware lol.

I think you are missing the point. Apple has uniformity of user experience at expense of modification.Moving from one iPhone to the next is not a jarring experience as it is from moving from one Android phone to the next. Android is a very capable and powerful o/s that/s been mishandled by short sighted carriers and manufacturers with conflicting aims and incentives. When you have carriers disabling features and manufacturers adding apps that cannot be removed we are impacting on the consumer. The success of the iPhone is in part due to the idiocy of carriers and manufacturers modifying Android and being slow with updates.

Ask yourself how much extra would you be willing to pay for your Android phone if it came without any carrier or manufacturer mods and that you would get timely updates for 2 to 3 years.

I have a 2008 MacBook running El Capitan (upgraded the RAM and HD to SSD) and my laptop performs incredibly well but it does lag - as I would expect, it's almost 8 years old!

The iPhone is another matter - they have a planned shelf life with planned obsolescence built in Planned Obsolescence

iPhones will typically become slower with each given upate, after a year lose 20% of the ability to charge fully and a year after lose 50% of that ability. So with updates and the lack of charge capability over time, this drives the consumer to want to replace their handset at a given point.

The same is true for any phone with a non replaceable battery - such as that in the Samsung S6 etc.

With an iPhone I generally refrain from updating iOS until I absolutely have to. I did update my iPod Touch 32GB and noticed lag when switching between music and other apps. It is around 2 years old so I guess it's to be expected, despite it being wrong.

unbelievable, its a deal forum, that's it not an android one, not an apple one so why oh why do we constantly need droids moaning about apple product we don't see the moaners on tins of beans threads. Oddly we see them moaning on Android deals, even fighting there about the deal, best one I saw was someone moaning on a refurb deal, he had to vote it hot but you can buy a new one for a tenner more. Says it all really, if you don't like the product then don't vote, don't add the comment, seems to work for apple users on Android deals, leave the comments for what they were originally for, adding info about the deal itself, where there maybe better deals out there. if we could have that we might have a better site rather than droids moaning. But hey, if we can still have a laugh at the android deals then so be it.

Thing is with android it is so so easy to get rid of those so called apps "When you have carriers disabling features and manufacturers adding apps that cannot be removed" Total rubbish... Apps or even builds of android are easily removed if you want to.

Apple lock down their products to a level that suits people that are unable to work them to the level that they are capable, simple. I was forced to use an iPad through work and it was a crippling experience. i would recomend the iPhone to anyone who isnt tech savvy and it ends there. Over priced bling that sheep follow - pretty simple to me :-)

you are kidding right, you have now done 7 posts in 2015, 5 of them trying to win a competition, 2 of them moaning on an apple thread. if you think this is a good contribution to the site then there is something wrong. I cannot take your concerns about Iphones v Samsung phones seriously as you haven't contributed anything worthwhile to this deal site but sadly you think people who buy Iphones have trouble getting dressed in a morning, well at least they have earned their money and used the site wisely which is something sadly you cannot say. Will wish you luck in next years competition.

Interesting article about the slowing down of devices under iOS 9 on older devices. New lawsuit claims Apple slows down older iPhones on iOS 9

My iPod touch has certainly seen a hit having upgraded to iOS 9. There is noticeable lag having installed before apps were added. There was little to no lag with iOS 8.x and apps installed. Surely this implies iOS 9 is badly written or it is intentional?

Actually no, I think Apple make brilliant devices but its the crazy premium attracted by the Apple logo I dont get, in fact I would say hands down the best pad is the Ipad for general use and as a piece of reliable hardware, best battery life in the real world and good build quality. I will admit that I find it too heavy and use the droid pads more. We have all seen what can be achieved for £150 from the Chinese e.g. xiaomi note range and others. But something is only worth what people are willing to pay, and the people say it is even if I think its crazy.

Sorry have to disagree - Android devices are far better in terms of not forcing you to update and still able to run new apps for far longer, and even when it gets to a stage of slowing down due to tech being a bit old = custom roms breath a new lease of life into the device, what do you do with an Apple device in such cases. Not knocking Apple, like I said amazing hardware and simplicity, even my granny can use an IOS device without fuss.
